No need to apologize Atty! I skim a lot too!

Yep, the cat literally attacked her foot, and Nancy tried to swish her away and that's when her hand got bitten.
Oh Yes! I remember now...."blood poisoning" was mentioned.....

I didn't equate with surgery....
Surgery...oh boy. Must be real serious. Does that mean amputation? or 'just' infection removal?

bear, this kitten is a rescue in my book! and by now would probably have ended up on your door step no matter what and possibly pregnant by now!

I am taking her to the vet today at noon so a tech can check for previous spaying
and to see if she is chipped. I am praying she is NOT chipped, because, I *think*
they then notify the owner.

Probably just to get the infection out. Amputation would only happen if it spreads too far. Although, she did mention sepsis, which is usually throughout the blood stream, and if not caught early, you could lose your life.

Don't be too hard on your friend, Gracie. These days, we don't see a lot of this stuff because of decent medical care. In the "ancient days" everyone knew someone that had died due to infections and "fever". But now-a-days, people don't freak about every scratch and cut. So she waited a bit for it to heal, but it got worse instead.

    Basically, tragic situation.
Sure you want another cat, Bear????

I'm on my way outside into the garden so I can clear my mind a bit; feeling emotionally drained!

Dh and I are taking care of their house and their other beasties while she's in the hospital and making sure that her husband is fed at night. Spending the entire day at the hospital is taxing on him, too!

Lots of reading to do today and I'm noticing I haven't seen Pepperoni around here lately. Should we be worried?
    Good morning everyone. :)
I'm wondering if I should stop letting my cat give me kisses on my nose. Don't want to go blind.

    :( :( :(

Chipped... and wheels set in motion because that's how it works.

    :) :) :)

    Spayed.

So... now I wait until the owner contacts me.

But they did say the address associated with the chip number is nowhere nearby. It was
registered oct14, and that guys has been here since last May or June. I have no idea why
the disconnects... maybe he got her from an "original" owner.

    merde! :(

but ........... let's see how it goes
maybe mention she made herself at home? and might need more attention and time he can give her?

    this is a flyby!
That happened to me once when I took in a stray. The owner came around and ended up letting me keep her.
