"The Cloud". It has always made me .

It's "The Server"... and is more than likely land-based, not floating up there in the sky.

"The Cloud".

Exactly. I think they needed a "catch phrase" for client-server computing that was more "approachable" for all users.

"The Web" is too...collective/massive/non-individual. Same with "The Net". So your personal account exists in "The Cloud", a sub-section of "The Web" owned by a service provider.

Server "clouds" just sound better than "clusters" on several levels....;)
If you knew you were storing stuff in "The Cluster"....you might not.

The term is morphing a bit and nobody can pin down it's origins. Goes all the way back to the 1950's by some accounts.

Anyway, nowadays, it's more of a competition for SAS...Software as A Service. Kind of like "Software Company becomes optional utility company". Think Netflix model but for general computing needs of all types. You don't need to buy a word-processor, just time-share rent one for a bit as needed. Same for development tools, test boxes, all resources.

Well, I'm getting off the computer for awhile and will tackle this again later......I still have it on my other computer with files in tact and with the old format. They've changed the format, so it seems, and not liking it, so have to re-assess.
I'll let you all know how it goes, went or otherwise!

Atty, not to worry, this will work out one way or the other......just hope it's not 'the other'....
It probably does read the old format; I just have to dig deeper!

A lot of folks are waiting to upgrade and wisely so, but I'm OK with it since the new system came with it pre-installed. With the exception of my OneNote dilemma, I'm liking Win 10 a lot.....did have to change my browser theme, cause that stark grey was........well, stark.

I did the same thing. ;) :p
FF changed their default theme to flat-nothingness-grey-cell-phone. Bleck. I'm still a bit undecided, as I found several to choose from. I'm now running a textured-grey kinda like paper. But blue and black are in close running. Got to be able to read the bookmarks bar. So I keep it simple.

My old walnut theme which I loved is not compatible with Win 10......so I chose a light green for now.....but will probably change that. A lot of the themes are not compatible with 10, but I suspect with some Windows upgrades, they will be eventually........sigh........patience, grasshopper.

Your textured-grey kinda like paper sounds interesting.....have to look at that one.

It's actually called "Brushed Metal - OSX" by _ntpl_ added Aug 13, 2015.

Guess it's supposed to be metal. ;)
I don't care that much as along as it's readable. So many of them make the toolbars useless so I don't use them.

EDIT: That was the date I added it.

Here it is:
Brushed Metal - OSX :: Add-ons for Firefox

P.S.
If you go to the FF site for themes (via get addons) when you hover over the theme, it shows you a sample. :)
