There's a reason for it.
ID verification, for example.
Lack of easy integration for another.
Avoiding spammer-callers is another.
Etc.

You do the right thing Tibs.
Maybe someday we'll all understand why it isn't integrated better. But rest assured, the IT departments are not doing it just to tick people off. They really aren't. And anything is possible to fix with enough manpower and resources, so I guess you can just A) pay up or B) repeat info or C) waste-tax-dollars and make them spend extra time on the phone. Your choice.

I always REFUSE to play the part of a mynah bird. My name is not "Heckel" or "Jeckel" (yes, they
are magpies... I know that). The call today was nothing new for me. In most cases, I have all
the time in the world to make THEM work FOR me... because in most cases THEY are receiving
money from me. I do not dance unless I like the music.

Well... anyway... that should most likely be my ONLY "ACA rant" this year. I'm not aware
of any changes to how subsidies and/or %-of-taxable-income-premiums-after-subsidies are
calculated. Which *should* mean I'll be doing another "nyah nyah nyah :censored:-YOU gubmint"

There's a reason for it. Or it wouldn't happen.
I haven't been in corp IT+phone stuff forever. But, basically, they want the calls to be as quick and helpful as possible, because time = money, so they don't do that stuff for no reason. Particularly since you said EVERYONE is doing it...so it's the norm for some reason. Some are probably better than others. A lot of them are probably just doing ID verification (and recording the call). Particularly with health insurance stuff.

Meh.
