No raw meat. Testing for infections, tumors, etc......could move her to the main vet, but this place has all the latest equipment, state of the art stuff, so, keeping her there and going to live on poverty row!

how soon did they expect to have the first results?

It's a good bet you caught it in time and got her help. The blood in stool is scary but not that uncommon for all sorts of stuff as I understand it. So it all depends. But you got her medical help and hydrated, her kidneys should be OK and they are checking on the cause...so there's a lot of positive hope that it will all be OK without too many complications.

That's a total guess of course. But prompt treatment like that is the key and she got it. So wait for the results. She's right where she needs to be to get all the help she needs. The whole thing could turn into just some more monitoring/hydrating, a change in meds and/or adding antibiotics and a nice big fat bill. But not something that won't be old news a few weeks from now.

Thanks, Atty. You are right. I appreciate your words. Been a tough month or 2 for sure. (HUGS)

Hubs is out plowing. I cleaned the car off and I was going to move it but all the door handles are froze. Proceeded to get a couple pieces of firewood and clean off part of the deck. Gotta thaw out now. Fingers be frozen.

Hope the new meds work for Spark tomorrow. Fingers crossed. Stay warm.

    Sounds frigid, Fran. Yuck.

    Stay warm too, Atty.

Morning, Dale and Gracie and OBG and Bear.

We might not get above freezing today. I'm hanging out with the beasties and reading books.
