Got home in time to feed the crew and grab a bite ourselves. Puggers is doing well. Glands were good, skin is good, gonna start weaning the steroid/antihistamine meds tomorrow. Piper got X rays. All looks good, except for her ar
thritis in her back and hip. Spine is fusing, which is good, pain wise. Back legs are weaker, and sphincter is affected, which we already knew. She never knows when she has to go, so we just deal with it. Did blood work to check liver and other functions since she is on daily pain meds. Saw one little spot in her lung that they are not sure is really anything, but will keep an eye on (if she starts showing more symptoms). Donna didn't think it was anything large enough to cause her to cough and the cough may be alllergy related. Give Benedryl as needed. For an almost 15 year old 67 lb. dog, she is doing well. Day by day. By the time we got home, she couldn't hold her back legs up at all because she stood the entire time we were there. She is finally laying on her cushions and zonked out.
I started feeling better around 11a.m., too, so that's also good. Thanks for listening!!! Mostly good news...
