I wonder if there's a way to rodent-proof a hose......

P.S.
There's a billion hits on Google for "rodent proof dishwasher hose....."
You'd think they'd just make a product that was rodent proof...since it's a common problem. (At least you won't feel alone in this CES.)

I'm thinking of seeing if they carry hose with a braided metal cover as someone else suggested. I may also get one of the electronic repellents for under the house. The one in the front room has resulted in a complete lack of the sounds of critters climbing in those walls.

going to put copper wool in the most obvious holes by which they enter.

one would think that the beasties would do a better job of protecting the house from varmints...

I DID IT!!!

I successfully replaced the hoses and the dishwasher works without leaking.

(and two small loads of laundry ran all the way through. It's probably that that saga isn't finished, but it looks like i won;t have to call a repair person this week :) )

not a valve.... two rubber hoses under the dishwasher have big-a.s.s. holes chewed into them

Roof rats????

Seriously, I feel your pain. I had one refrigerator and one stove damaged by rodents... And now my car mechanic told my that he had noticed rodent activity under the hood of my car--he told me to put some drier sheets there to discourage the beasts.

NOTHING IS RODENT PROOF!!!!

Rodents rule!

@CES, you need a rodent guy. Ours checked the whole house for entry points and plugged them all (we hope).

What we need are you scientists to create a new house cat. Formula:
Size = 1x - 2x rat size. Teeth = bigger. Claws = bigger. Must fit under/behind dishwashers and squeeze through rodent holes. And also be able to live on roofs in CA.

Bring it on. I'll take two of those!

Done eating here....and gonna say an early goodnight, in case I don't get back. Company. My BFF is stopping over for awhile. Hard time of year for her, since she lost her husband this year. And one of my dearest friends is dying in a hospital about 60 miles from me. She is only 43. Been in the hospital for almost 6 weeks. She really thought she would be home for Christmas, and does NOT even know she is dying because she is so afraid. So, they removed all the "stuff" keeping her going and are just making her as comfortable as possible. She was a strong and vibrant young woman just a little over a year ago. My heart aches for her and her family. So, my spirits are a bit down and spending some time with BFF may help.

    Have a wonderful night everyone....sleep well...pleasant dreams...and a better tomorrow....:)
