I think you nailed it. Fast Food delivery #1, followed by Amazon and stuff. Pharmacy and grocery would be a big bonus for seniors too I guess.

After several blinks our power went out. No idea why. My puter, moniter, everything went out but my router. Not sure if it was supposed to do that so I unplugged the UPS. Power is back and puter started with no problem.
Huh. There's two sides to the UPS.
One is battery backup, the other is NOT battery backup.
Make sure you plug the computer and monitor into the battery side. It will give you a couple of minutes of power to shut down the computer safely yourself.

It should beep when it's on battery-only power. That's the test I talked about before. Test it with the monitor first and the computer off, and unplugging the UPS from the wall. The monitor should still be on. Then plug it back in, charge it up a while, and try it with BOTH computer and monitor plugged into the battery side by unplugging from the wall.

nope - better check if you got your important stuff plugged in the right outlets. like your router your monitor and computer should have stayed on long enough for you to shut down properly :?:

We had a mini blackout late this afternoon, and I've been keeping a log of all the times without power and how long. We have U-Verse and we're keeping a close eye on them!

just right for my nerves, dale! ;)

@ atty - but the router stayed on? :?:
Might have it's own battery. I know my cable-modem/router has an OPTION for one, but it didn't ship with one (cheap-out on Comcast's part is my guess, but only a guess. If they gave them out there would be on-going costs and support for battery replacement. I have mine on the UPS for that reason...land-line phone goes through cable.)

I have no idea. I made sure the light and printer were plugged into the surge protector side. The next crd went to my moniter a I plugged that into the battery side. Only one code left and I plugged that into the battery side also. That last cord powers my computer and my router. I didn't chase the wires but the router is plugged into the puter or the other way around.

Doesn't seem so but it blinked several times before it went out. I got up to turn the computer off then and it was already out. I guess it's possible. I shut off my router and unplugged the UPS just to be safe. It proceeded to beep every couple minutes and I had to shut it off.
