Good ("Dad") Tuesday to all. He has his 4-month cardiologist check-up
today, so am moving Wednesday activities to today.

<hospital rant>

Here in Crotchfester, the three major hospitals have the parking facilities
in a different zip code than the hospital. You take your ticket... then find
a parking spot... hoof it to where you need to go. By that time, it's already
15 minutes minimum. Do that in reverse to get back to the car, that's 30
minutes charge for - well - NOTHING. Add in the time in MDs office or
visiting or whatever you actually need to do. I don't know... I'd think free
parking would be not unreasonable. In all 3, the first hour is $5.00. That
sucks.

I was slumbering peacefully this AM when suddenly roused by Hus announcing
"T'MATO MADE A POO"!!! :glare:

Granted... we have been awaiting The Blessed Event for a few days now, but
I'm kind of thinking I would have SEEN IT sooner or later. Why wake me up for
poo???

Good T'mato, anyway... I guess.

It's catch and release, which I like.
More "Hus :glare: ".

A package arrived yesterday for him. When he got home, it was opened to reveal
a "DynaTrap, 0.5 Acre". It's a flying insect lure and implement of death. He said
he's tired of not being able to enjoy the deck in the evening because of the skeeters
and other crawlies.

He made me put it in the center of the gazebo.

It lures the bugs via some kind of ultraviolet light. When they come too close, they
get sucked into it (there is a high-speed fan) and then into a catch compartment.
The insects that do not get creamed by the spinning blades are left to be subjected
to a constant wind until they dehydrate and die.

That, to me, is really mean and cruel. A slow death while being buffeted around and
around inside a trap. :glare: I'd RATHER they die instantly. The BEST thing would be
to simply repel them from the deck area... but nothing had really worked all that
well. Even the fogger I bought years ago. This thing will more than likely not do a
VERY good job, either.

have you looked into some kind of netting, bear?
The deck is over 350 sq ft !!! That would look attractive! I'd also
need to put up quite a few posts to hold suggested netting.

The bugs-on-deck are really NOT all that bad. He should try going
out in the yard sometime to do some actual yardwork... stirring
up the mosquitoes and stuff. He'd know what REAL bugs are like.

(And don't forget the current 11'-high umbrella... or the other 9'
umbrella... how would one "net" around/over those?) Just sayin'.

Well, you can always get a 'zapper'. But then you have to listen to ZzzzzzT! all the time.

nasty sound - tried that once years ago down at the barn. a good 300ft away but could still hear it sitting on the porch :?:
