Ha!
So much for Mr. Negative Bear!

Wanna buy some glasses? Only $1,000.00 per pair. ;) (joking)
I/we will be driving home at 14h35 ("height of darkness") on Monday
and heading east. I hope those driving west keep their unprotected
eyes on the road.

See what happens when you stare at an eclipse???...

    Uhmmm.... he's not eye-protecting. He wouldn't fork over the $2.50 for the 2 sets of glasses "because it will be cloudy". :facepalm:
    Yes, but he will be going in the opposite direction, so he IS sorta protecting his eyes. I didn't fork over the money, either. Gonna watch online, if I get home in time from doctor's. BTW, I'll be traveling north. Am I safe? o_O

    It doesn't matter what direction you're traveling. It matters if you stare at the sun or not.

    Are you OK any other time? Yes. Why? Because you don't stare at the sun.

    But during an eclipse, some people try so hard to view the phenomenon, that they do damage to their eyes, particularly when it's partly eclipsed. It's NEVER safe to look at it (maybe a real quick glimpse...like .1 seconds, once only, treating it as if it was full sunshine) unless it's at totality, and if you don't know when that is or if you're not in the narrow band of totality, use the appropriate viewing devices (approved), or watch it online. Online is safe. :)

    It's ONLY 70% coverage here!!! :: yawn :: :: big deal ::

    I'll fork over come the 2024 TOTAL eclipse here.
    I have plenty of time to FORK over. I also think
    a money-making opportunity will exist.

    Grab that dough!!!
