I bought a card and was going to provide the little stinker (I can't even remember how old he is now) some $$$ until I was rudely reminded of the fact that I was sans debit card for 7-10 business days.

Yeah Pepper. If you were on the WEST side like Classy, the storm surge and water gets pushed OUT to sea if Irma stays South of FL and the rain-dump starts on the East coast (counter clockwise rotation and winds, since the eye is South of FL).

Stopped to get estimates/ideas on car cosmetics. $1200+ to have a very
small area de-rusted and repainted. It's the FIRST rust spot and makes me
ill. I suppose that after 9 years, rust happens. Why pay all that only to
have another one pop up... and fix it... and another... etc.
And the spoiler would need to be completely replaced because the two back-
most anchor points are cracked. New anchors would just make it crack
more. :: sigh ::

I see Key West is going to be in for quite a wild ride.
The highest point
is only 18 feet above sea level. It's a wonderful place and I hate to see it
in any danger. I (we) were there in 1980 when Allen passed by... south of
Cuba... and saw what happens even being THAT far away.

Got about 10 minutes of rain and heard 2 seconds of distant thunder. The storm went right around us for the most part. Looks like it's gone by for now, to return in 2-3 hours.
OK........all important and valuables are now packed and ready to go. vaping stuff has its own large bag! If we don't have to evacuate we are prepped to stay also........but, rather doubt that.....we'll leave a day before any mandatory order comes in....hope our hurricane windows do their job, cause the winds are going to be horrendous.
