Getting very
close now to telling current landline provider to kiss my everloving
hirsute
goodbye. They brought it on themselves.
(Have not shared details here... yet.) Once I become comfortable
using it AS A PHONE ONLY, that's when I have my number ported and,
once it's working, make that call.

Right knee has been bothering me something fierce the last week or
two. Of course, the FIRST thing that comes to mind is "replacement".
That's how I operate, regardless of this being a first occurrence. I'm
hoping I just "did something" to it and the swelling will go down and
pain diminish.

I haven't broken down yet and bought a "smart" phone yet! Still old school!
You operate somewhat like me. My anxiety always takes me to the worst case scenario. Problem is, sometimes I'm right. It does sound like you tweaked it somehow. Try ice, then heat, ibuprofen if you can tolerate it for about 5-7 days. Hope it feels better.

Land line phone rates were high here, and the quality of the line was crap. So after a while, I ended up deciding on "Triple play" from Comcost. It ended up saving money, even after I paid for a UPS for the cable modem.
