Good Morning to The Group.

Bella is making me feel stuck in a moral dilemma. This will be day 3 if
she does not make any effort to eat (although she has been drinking).
Her lower jaw has receded dramatically, and I'm sure it's very hard for
her to take food. But, she's being very cat-like in getting around and
other behavior. So, I'm just letting her be, but know things will start
shutting down. I'm not liking the thought of adding to her discomfort,
but when she behaves so well it makes me feel like it's still too soon to
make that decision.

Yes, pets will let us know. She's not "saying" anything yet.

That's the best we can do. Watch them and hope they let us know when it's time. If she's not eating, you know that time will be soon, but, if she's still doing "cat" stuff, she's not quite ready. Think we all get it and feel for you, Sweetie. Sending (((hugs))) and love..

Good morning, Fran, Tibs, Kat & Dale
    Good morning Gracie :)

Morning Fran, Tibs, Kat, Dale, Gracie, snails.

Yeah, sleep is hard in such circumstances, Fran. Do the best you can. Nap. Take care of yourself while you help DH. He'll probably sleep a lot too. I worry about you too. It takes a toll on you, so take care of yourself.
Good morning Atty :) So true!

bear, you have no idea how many times i told miss daisy to, please, not leave it to me. three times i had to make that judgement call and every time i second-guessed myself afterwards :( i'll be forever grateful that miss daisy went on her own in my arms.
maybe bella will do the same for you - and you're right, if she's still drinking and getting around it's not time

Paperwork is signed for hospice. A social worker will be next with more info and paperwork and after that we'll get a nurse visit.

(((Frannie))) I'm glad you're getting help and that your kids are going to be with you. Be brave and don't forget to take care of yourself also--eat, sleep, take some me time.

    *sigh*

Sometimes we pet parents do wait too long because "we" are not there yet or want to postpone the inevitable. I know I waited way too long with Hershey. Like a year too long.

bite your tongue! one eye closed on it's own already  but gotta bide my time - dh expects a call every night around 6:30 or so ;)

Speaking of DH--how is he doing over there? Has he adjusted to his new surroundings?
