You have lots of options to keep that laptop working if you wish. Repairing a laptop keyboard is probably not worthwhile.

I have 3 USB ports. 2 are not named but one has what looks like MMM or HAM over it (I can't see it good)
And if the one you're using on the desktop RIGHT NOW has a USB connector (like that ^^^), try it on the laptop.like this Classys ya just plug into a usb port
