Does it have a keyboard jack on the back, and do you have a keyboard with a non-usb plug?

Also, USB keyboards can be had pretty inexpensively. Use internet.

Not a clue and no - I'm not techy

I've seen very nice USB keyboards at Target and BestBuy for 9-12 bucks. Including Logitech.

I can handle that !

(and I got your edit done)

Sorry Classy, my bad.

Keyboard jacks look like this:

You already know what USB jacks look like, since you have a wireless mouse plugged into one of them (I assume), but anyway:

Sometimes they use one of these things to make a non-usb keyboard into a usb-keyboard:

You have lots of options to keep that laptop working if you wish. Repairing a laptop keyboard is probably not worthwhile.

Sounds like you have room for a USB keyboard.

If the one you're using is USB, just use that, otherwise "Shopping with Katya" time, reviews above. ;)

So I just buy one and plug it into any USB port ?

I can only help just so much, I'm almost a full USA height away, and I can't see it. And apparently, neither can you...

Maybe we'll wait until it's light. It's FL, not MI, so you might even get some sun.......:D

I probably won't see that big glowing thing in the sky for another two months....
