So, hearing is pretty much the same, but understanding words is much worse in right ear, especially. Tells them that current hearing aids aren't efficient anymore. Have to start saving for newer ones. Meanwhile, I spent my extra cash on ecig stuff...... I have noticed that I am asking M a lot more, to tell me what someone said on the Teevee...o_O

Oh! {{{hugs}}} Kat, I'm so sorry!
Over the years my comprehension went from 98% to 0 so I really do understand how you feel :( All that noise without comprehension is aggravating isn't it?

Why is it after I have a delicious lunch, I want to got to sleep; as if I didn't know the answer......too much food!
    Resistance is futile

    Ouch! :(

I couldn't believe it either o_O Eye contact!!! Lip reading ;) You figure it out ...
don't you have closed captioning on your TV?

Yea, last year it was almost 100%, with the aids, and now 48% with them, so that's quite a drop. Do have closed captioning, but they tell me new hearing aids WILL help with comprehension. We will see.

nope, still at local skilled nursing/rehab facility. he vetoed duke rehab because no way i could have visited every day, sometimes twice, over the last 6 weeks ..............
duke is a 3hr round trip but that can turn into 5 hours if your timing is bad. :(

I've used closed captioning for several years because there's always so much background sound that it's hard for me to discriminate.

gotta get it done tonight - tomorrow we're heading to duke ........... sigh

I hope the assembly is easy and that it helps. Good luck at Duke tomorrow!

My beastie was a very good girl at the vet/PT. She was friendly and cuddly and allowed poking and stretching without complaint.

She is, other than her bad knee and some stiffness in her hips, in very good shape. The vet/PT agrees with non-surgical management. She also said that the braces don’t add that much (at least in our case) , so we don’t have to get a brace.

The basic plan is no running and no jumping. Which means that I either make the couches and bed inaccessible or that I make it so she gets up and down without jumping. The couch is gonna be tough, but the rest is really reasonable.

Her treatment plan includes walking a total of ~ 45 min/day in several increments, going up and down stairs and hills, and stepping over low obstacles (all while on a leash) . Even making her sit down and stand up is good. The idea is to make her use her leg in a controlled fashion so as to build up the scar tissue in the right way, make sure she doesn’t lose muscle mass, and so that she doesn’t rely only on the other leg and hurt it too.

I can set her up to get laser therapy to assist healing too- it’s not horribly expensive, so I may go for it. But other than that she can go back for reevaluation in 4-6 weeks.
