Because e-cigs are a harm reduction product, Atty. That's why. Just for starters.
Not when used by teens that aren't otherwise addicted to smoking. (The purpose of the must-have-signature legislation).

If you favor "must ID" in stores, then it's similar to require an adult signature by mail.

this is not 'must have signature' - this is an outright ban
S. 1253, which is the Senate version of HR 3842, is being fast-tracked through committee. This bill would prohibit the U.S. Postal Service from accepting packages of vapor products for delivery.

Yes, but not FedEx or UPS. So it's not a national-ban like some materials. It's a "Must require signature" (and it won't be from USPS).

There are some materials that you pretty much CAN'T ship period. This isn't one of those.

I so disagree with you Atty. Did you stop and think what this bill will do to the rural vapers who have no access to vaping shops and are not very rich. To vappers on fixed incomes? To senior citizens stuck in assisted-living facilities? To working parents who will never be able to be home when the package arrives and will have to drive, sometimes for miles, to pick up the damned package instead of helping their kids with homework or sitting down to a nice family dinner.

NATIONAL: (CALL TO ACTION!)
Fight to Keep Vape Mail Legal! Tell your lawmakers to reject S.1253. This bill would prohibit the U.S. Postal Service from accepting packages of vapor products for delivery and raise the cost of purchasing vapor products by $15-$20 per shipment for millions of adults who don't have access to vape shops!

Online bans may seem "reasonable" to reduce teen purchases, but only 5.7% teens surveyed vaped daily. Meaning most teens didn't actually purchase products, but instead just tried a friend's. And smoking rates are highest in poor/rural areas - where cigarettes are plentiful, but vape shops are rare!

US - Keep Vape Mail Legal! (Reject S.1253) (snip)

FedEx and UPS (and the other services) followed USPS because it was the
"right thing to do" re: combustible cigarettes.

The precedent has been set. At least in NY.
They can't ship smokes by mail for the same reasons.
Further, most of you at least give superficial lip service to the idea that stores should ID purchases of vape products.

I don't see this as any different. In fact, it basically amends the existing legislation from "cigarettes" to "cigarettes or ENDS" (I abbreviated).

I have enjoyed being able to purchase USPS. But those days are about gone. Bummer, but better for the kids I suppose.

I'd love to see some stats on how many kids actually get vapes that way. But no matter. It's no different for nic-vapes than it is for cigs.

Boo hoo.

THey didn't follow voluntarily. They were forbidden to transport cigarettes by law. But they were overjoyed to pick up USPS's snus and cigar and other "tobacco products" and earn a lot of money when the PACT Acts went into effect in 2010--identical to this bill, except it now includes vaping products.

OK, THAT is an interesting point. If that happens, then we're screwed. But I doubt it will.
Simply because e-cigs are harm reduction and they know that too. Besides, revenue $$$$$$!!!!! talk too.
