Am I gonna need a meter when I start rebuilding my Cubis coils? Can I get those pre made wire thingys to put the cotton in? And which is the best material...cotton or what?
Here we go........
I almost always recommend getting a semi-decent meter just as a "home tool". But people use those dedicated meters with a 510 connection on them too.

I go cotton lately thanks to @TomCatt, others do other stuff...rayon and/or silica.

eson Weed Datura stramonium - Jimsonweed, Jamestown Weed, Mad Apple, Moon Flower, Stinkwort, Thorn Apple, Devil's Trumpet.

Datura stramonium - Jimsonweed, Jamestown Weed, Mad Apple, Moon Flower, Stinkwort, Thorn Apple, Devil's Trumpet. This purple-stemmed, introduced species is found in every state in the United States except Alaska and Wyoming, and is also found in much of Canada, and indeed throughout warm and moderate regions of the entire world. It is a banned weed in Connecticut and Pennsylvania, and is listed as an invasive by authoritative sources in most of the United States. In addition to being invasive, it is toxic, with the level of toxicity varying from plant to plant, and even from day to day in the same plant. Ingestion can be fatal. Toxicity is a common feature of plants in the Solanaceae (Nightshade / Potato) family.
The name Jimsonweed, a variant of Jamestown weed, originated because British soldiers were drugged with it near Jamestown, Virginia in 1675 by local farmers during Bacon's Rebellion, an inauspicious page in North American history, about which I had no knowledge until researching this plant.
    Found in:
AL, AR, AZ, CA, CO, CT, DC, DE, FL, GA, HI, IA, ID, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MA, MD, ME, MI, MN, MO, MS, MT, NC, ND, NE, NH, NJ, NM, NV, NY, OH, OK, OR, PA, RI, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, VT, WA, WI, WV

That is a datura which sometimes gets confused with brugmansia (angel's trumpet.....both are highly toxic and it has been known that teens like to inhale the leaves for a high.....we keep ours isolated for that reason.

I have been growing them for years, but have never known the brugs (angel's trumpet to self seed.

Datura's blooms are normally sky directed where as brugs are downward....thus angel trumpet.

Datura stramonium, known by the common names Jimson weed or Devil's snare, is a plant in the nightshade family. It is believed to have originated in Mexico, but has now become naturalized in many other regions.Wikipedia
    Scientific name: Datura stramonium
    Higher classification: Angel's trumpets

    apparently:

Brugmansia: Their large, fragrant flowers give them their common name of angel's trumpets, a name sometimes used for the closely related genus Datura.

how you call'em might depend on where you're at? ;) but no matter - they are gorgeous! :) leave them alone, obg! :D
