Good morning OBG, Fran, and Tibs
Good morning KatGood morning, Fran, Tibs, Dale, OBG and all sleepy head Snails, who I envy!!!![]()
I am SO SCREWED.
Using the tablet.
I unwittingly set a Win10 logon password (THOUGHT) I was creating
one for MS games only. I have the PW in an Excel file. It's well over
20 characters (random)... and I now need it to even log in to my PC!
I tried the MS password reset form, but it asks questions for which
there is no answer on this tablet... email "sent" addresses and
subject lines. No email have ever been sent from here.
Their tech support can provide ZERO help with passwords for security
purposes.
So, will need to scour web for possible hacks.
Won't be here much until I can use my PC.

Reset your password
If you can't remember your password, follow these steps to get into your account.
If password reset doesn't work
- Go to the Reset your password page. (Open an Internet browser and navigate to the Microsoft Reset your password Web page: 'ht tps://account.live.com/password/reset')
- Choose the reason you need your password reset, then click Next.
- Enter the email address you used when you made your Microsoft account. This could be any email address, or an email ending in a Microsoft domain like hotmail.com or outlook.com.
- Enter the characters you see on the screen (this lets us know you’re not a robot), then click Next.
- If you've added security info to your account, we'll send a one-time code to the alternate phone number or email address you gave us. After you enter that code on the next screen, you'll be able to make a new password.
Sometimes changing settings in your account can affect how you sign in, and resetting your password won't fix it. See if one of the scenarios below applies to you.

If you can't get a security code If you don't have or can't get to your security info (your alternate phone number or email address), click I didn’t get a code when you’re prompted for a code at sign-in, or I don’t have access to these when you’re resetting your password, then follow the instructions.
You may be asked to fill out a security questionnaire. You’ll be asked for info like the subject lines of email you recently sent from your account, your birthdate, credit card info, and other details only you would know. You don't have to know every answer, and it's ok to be close if you don't know the exact answer. There may be a 30-day waiting period to get full access to your account.
