The Doctors/Pharma have people coming and going. Grrrr.
Sorry Fran.
It's a lot to sort out. I remember helping mom sort it out.

She has Part D/supplemental coverage (whatever you call it) that covers most stuff with maybe a small co-pay of like 20 bucks. Cost is reasonable per month, but like tibs said dounuthole. Tibs is right about that doughnuthole thing (Bush. Grrrrr).

Make sure you do a search for "Medicare Part D Supplemental" if you haven't already (you've probably been inundated already!) There's sites that will help you. Probably varies by region/state so what you have for options is not what we have (at least for some carriers).

Don't envy you the search, but the effort/research is worth it. :) Fingers crossed! Keep your chin up!

Good morning snails. :)

morning, atty! ;)

while part d limits can be frustrating all pharmaceutical companies have 'compassion' programs and needed medications can be obtained free of charge if your financial resources are limited.
i'm more concerned that frannie gets the right coverage for her hubs for part a and b :(

    Open for suggestions.

See if anyone here can help, if you are willing to give them info, like your zip code, age, etc. Some folks are really good at finding plans and others, not so much. It's a jungle and a maze :)

with a diagnosis of emphysema you need to make sure hubs has access to the best doctors and hospitals of YOUR choosing and you need to protect yourself against deductibles, co-payments and co-insurance. there wasn't a doubt in my mind that for my dh supplement f was the way to go ;) but you might find a medicare advantage plan in your area that will offer decent protection and choice. advantage plans are usually quite a bit cheaper and include part d coverage. only way to find out - pick the brain of a good insurance agent but do NOT sign anything till you double-checked yourself.

    Morning,Atty:)

I'm looking into Medicare's Extra Help program. It will pay the initial cost of Plan D and and co=pays and stuff I believe. No donut hole.

That's an excellent place to start. And you may qualify for Medicaid, Fran. That would cover about everything.
Here's a lot of info on it, including eligibility. Hope this helps....:)
