Get new spark plugs and some starter fluid spray first. If you want to save some $$$$. But if they're running like crap, take em in.
Get a spark-plug gapper if you don't have one (few bucks). Only use a quick burst of spray, not a lot.

It will start right up.
You forgot the special spark plug extension for the socket wrench. Hmmm...
for something that "might" be the problem... that has happened after 5 years
of ownership (will probably NOT see ANOTHER 5 years, the mower)...

Spark plugs
Gapper
Extender
Fluid

I shall ponder.

Look at it first. You MAY not need the spark-plug-socket/wrench since it's possible the "nut" on the plug extends past the cooling fins. If so, you can actually get it off with an adjustable wrench (Crescent wrench). Or splurge, your choice.

As to the rest, it's good to have a gapper and fluid around anyway. And the plug should be changed anyway (and the shop you take it to will charge you for doing that so you may as well do it yourself anyway). You might just get away with plug and gapper, plus an existing adjustable wrench. The "spray" might not be needed with a fresh plug (but it usually helps! And it's only a couple bucks).

Oh, and check/change the oil next spring too. ;)
