Good morning Tibs, Fran, Kat, Dale, KC, Gracie, snails........

sure hope your taxes are done now, atty! ;) - morning!

Yep! Although I spent 24.99 to e-file (probably could have done that for free, but it is a fee for the state tax efile, there's free ways, but IDK if I can do that within TurboTax. Grrr corporatists.) And I spent about 80 bucks for the software.

There shouldn't be fees for e-filing. I can see the fee for the software, but not for the transmission of the data. I mean, hell, the state should pay TurboTax or whomever a few bucks just to save them the time/costs of processing paper forms. There are free e-file sites for the state, but many don't support a schedule C. Anyway, I also owed a few bucks of use-tax for purchases that didn't take out state taxes. They used to have a "few buck minimum" alternative, now you have to detail it all out and calculate 6%.

Of course I could send it on paper, but that costs THEM too, and makes their costs higher, which reduces other state services.

The whole thing sucks. I get grumpy this time of year. ;) :D  I pay too much for the "privilege" of filing taxes the easy way. I think Carly Fiorina was correct, it should fit on a single page. Grrrr.

Anyway, I guess I could have e-filed the federal, and paper printed the state one and saved 24.99, but meh. Grrrr. Grumble.

    /Rant
