Well, not good, but not real bad, either. Profound hearing loss in right ear and not sure if it will come back. If it does, it will still be a severe loss, as it has been for several years. Can do steroids for 2 weeks, but run high risk of damaging more bones in my body. Can do injectable steroids directly behind ear drums, causing less bone damage, but comes with many risks, including permanent dizziness. Can live with it! Or, can wait 6 weeks and see if it improves. If it does, it was a viral thing. Chose the wait and see. Meantime, ENT wants last hearing test results from my normal audiologist to see how much I lost and how fast. Meanwhile, it is definitely not as bad as it was, so fingers will remain crossed that it was a viral thing that will pass. As we all know, I have had worse, so I'm grateful there was nothing wrong in the brain. :)

'wait and see' seems to be the sensible approach :)
What's wrong with antibiotics for bacterial, and antivirals for a virus? Can't they try that? Are there no good solutions to inner ear issues?

    P.S.
    How's your sinus, Kat?

Well, antibiotics are way overused and inner ear problems are very seldom from infection. Viral, yes, but doesn't seem to be an antiviral for inner ear. There are no EASY solutions to inner ear issues. Also, very difficult to diagnose. Somewhere down the road, I may have to see a neuro otologist. My sinuses are okay, Atty. They've been checked, too.

Not totally what you wanted to hear, but the good part is a healthy brain! :)

You know, my appointment this morning was at 8:30 and it was still mostly dark when I left around 8. Bring back regular daylight time and leave it alone. There's enough evidence to support the DST doesn't save a damn thing!!! I'll take the lighter mornings, now that I'm older...lol...

Next up is Chest CT in November and, MAYBE, ultrasound on ovaries.

Good evening and goodnight Snails. Sleep well, sweet dreams and a better tomorrow for all :)
