Wattage is a measure of WORK (think effort). Imagine carrying rocks some distance. The more weight you have to move over a distance, the more work/effort. Also a small weight but a long distance, the more work as you increase distance. So work = force x distance, right? Physics is magic! That's it! Thanks, Atty. I'm still using my mini pegasus I bought for $19 about 3 years ago. Still on the first one, too. Use the eleaf 1.5 ohm coils. Have used Samsung 18650, 3000 and 3500 mah, but I understand it also has to do with how much wattage you use? Looking to make my batteries last longer than a few hours.

Same with wattage. Wattage = volts (force) x amps (number of little itty bitty electrons flowing per second). So force x "weight" again (thinking of the electrons as a bag of COPYRIGHTDMCA).

Anyway, if your batteries are old, they don't hold as much anymore. They still charge up to the same voltage, but the # of electrons kept is reduced. Basically, they "wear out" over time.
More resistance on your coils = less work that has to be done = longer batter life and lower wattage needed.
What batteries you get depends firstly on your mod's requirements, and also on the quality of the battery. And I gladly defer to Mooch for the latter.
IDK. I'm just buying 18650's at my local vape shop, and praying for the best results. Which is probably stupid, but I can be stupid sometimes.I don't know if I'm just tired or what, but I couldn't find a section that told me the best battery for me. There were like a million. I just want some really good 18650s for my mod. Any suggestions? Mooch be really smart when it comes to that stuff. Katmar be really stoopid!Marsha wants the same, too. All of our batteries are not lasting more than a few hours. Can you break it down a little Atty, when you get time. No hurry.

The best I can tell you is to peruse Mooch's blog, and also "general" and find links and recommendations.
But I'm betting that if your current batteries are old, that any decent battery will do wonders for you. That, and keeping the resistance on the coil as high as practical for you, while still giving you decent results, in these days of "sub-ohm" vaping.![]()

Right. But she's really asking "Which one should I buy?"Readers Digest condensed version: "Buy a new battery".![]()
Right. But she's really asking "Which one should I buy?"
IDK how to answer that, other than say "use a trusted vendor and/or research".

YMMV, most of my vaping is at 40 watts or lower with 1.2 to 1.8 ohm coils. most of my batteries are the Samsung 30Q from below link. (yes, I use the button topped ones)

Hope this helps a bit

Okay, it's not that I have not done the research. It's that the said research only serves to confuse me more. Guess I better never try to change my breaker box, huh? Here's the scoop:
Both Marsha and I vape a 1.5 ohm atty, at between 8 and 12 watts. Can anyone tell me the best battery for such? I don't know the difference between watts and amps, but I know the lower amp battery lasts longer, yes? And that only works if you vape at lower watts, yes? And what is high discharge? Y'all see what I mean about stoopid, even with Atty's excellent analogy????You can tell me to shut up and go find my own battery and I will understand...

Any 18650 battery recommended by Mooch is fine. The larger the capacity (mAh rating), the longer it will last. At the rate you guys are vaping, a 2500 mAh battery should last you about a week without recharging.
And what did you try to link? Mooch's chart? Choose any of the high capacity 18650 column because you're low wattage vapers and want your batteries to last long. I have the green Sony, the pink Samsung and the tootsie roll (LG). They are all flawless. Oh, and I always follow his recommendations for reputable vendors (bottom of the page)--they are excellent. Just shop around for the best prices.
