Sure, I know how to unwatch a thread, but I seem to have some irrational reluctance to actually do so.

You know it's bad when the township starts emailing newsletters on arctic blasts and how not to have frozen pipes and water meters.

Wed's high temp is predicted to be zero or negative. (although we have had days that are like -20F historically). Thur is expected to be about 3F. They're predicting an arctic blast.

Weird weather. Was too warm for a long time, now overly cold. (average is about 30 this time of year)

Down here everyone freaks out if the forecast calls for the temps to drop below freezing at all. We had some pretty hard frosts here early last January, but have had no frost at all so far this year, and it's amazing how different things look this year compared to last. Grass is green, dune daisies and Indian blanket flowers are still blooming, etc.

You're in the northern plains somewhere, right?

Michigan!

And that's all with the lakes buffering stuff.

IDK what's hitting the plains and what we're sending over to the East Coast.

I'm expecting some really cold crap in national weather forecasts. But it could just be a jet-stream thing that's dipping down around MI too. IDK. Sometimes we get that loop down and back up thing from Canada.

The great lakes cause some weird weather patterns sometimes too. But they usually buffer them a bit.
