morning, atty, gracie and dale! :)

No, it wasn't. Had to get a new number when switched to cable. But I've had it for YEARS!
:?: i know plenty of people who ported their number from a landline company when they switched to cable albeit sometimes with quite a few hiccups ;)

The new company says it should go through. They were really nice, so hopefully looking at good customer service with them. I was unable to keep my original number, that I had for 25 years, when I went with cable. I was bummed. But, whatever will be, will be. Just looking to save some money with all of this. :)

How many "bars" (signal strength) does the phone show while at home?

Are you in the green area, @FranC ??? There are some white blotches here and there.

Bear,if you go to Tracfone's website as if to purchase a phone and put in my home zipcode....03456.....it will tell you their phones have no service in my zipcode.
See... we have no frowny emoticon for that.

What service did you use with the old phone?

Tracfone just "leases" signals from other carriers (ATTy, Verizon, etc.).

We used tracfone for years and they used to work in our zip fine but no more. Not sure what service the old phone had but they must not use it anymore. It's ok with me.I have the landline at home. Not to mention I hate phones.

Necessary evil. I have two talkative cousins. Other than that, my phone calls are short and business-like (generally :mad:)
