And.... just cancelled "Dad Wednesday" because, as of 13h40, it's still coming down hard.DING DING!!!
Here we go again.
NWS weather text alert for impending snow squalls. ...until 13h00.
And on-and-off the rest of the day.

And now a sticking point! (Surprise surprise.)and fingers crossed for bear's project!

I really wouldn't do that 50% down. But that's me.And now a sticking point! (Surprise surprise.)
They came back with a quote (acceptable, COULD be a bit lower, though). In my reply, I
mentioned my preference for a "no deposit" arrangement, but offered 10% as a token of
good faith. I brought it up first.
Their policy is 50% down. (THAT is high and ALSO not recommended by a number of
consumer groups.)
My response was that I would need to see the contract and how it deals with "refundability".
Waiting.
I'm not having them show up in JULY to do late April / early May work. Even if it means
they could be working shirtless and all sweaty. Red long beards and all.

How long is the job? If it's a one or two day job, it won't matter much. They need enough to cover their material costs though, which shouldn't be that high for a staining job.Their policy is 50% down. (THAT is high and ALSO not recommended by a number of

Two days, maybe three. One to power wash, 2 to stain and do cosmetic "reconstruction".How long is the job? If it's a one or two day job, it won't matter much. They need enough to cover their material costs though, which shouldn't be that high for a staining job.
If it's more than two days or whatever, then you might want to debate the 1/2 down thing. Or if you think they'll be no-shows, then don't go near them. But from their reviews, you say they're fine.
I'll bet hubs comes home with take-out (for him) because he did not listen to hisAnd.... just cancelled "Dad Wednesday" because, as of 13h40, it's still coming down hard.
