Popping in only to let you in on a little somethingcan't believe your utility has not switched over to meters that can be read remotely
hiya, dale!
not exactly the way it's supposed to work around here:"Smart Meters" allow your utility company to
monitor your usage during peak hours and then
charge you accordingly.
"Supposed" being the key word.not exactly the way it's supposed to work around here:

What's the break-even point in terms of years?
Tell me... what's that?... how many?
Plan to be here then?
I don't.
Let the young'uns embrace it. And hug it and
squeeze it and love it and call it "George".
Context:
JUST an example: Do I spend many MANY dollars toYou know... many decisions I make now are based on
anticipated life expectancy.
Will this-or-that provide enough of a benefit to me
given how many years I (probably) have left. I have
no legacy in kids or grandkids, so I am unable to
relate to future generations. Let the future generation(s)
take it upon themselves to make the changes now which
will provide THEM benefits. They have the energy and
impetus. Me, not so much.
It takes TIME... the infrastructure. Design, manufacturing,
procurement of parts, building. Not overnight and most
likely not in my lifetime. If anything, it should have been
done years ago, but I'm not one to point fingers.
I have other things going on.
I could concern myself with "will my nursing home have
the right air conditioning" to be comfortable. Or heating.
Kind of late now.
it sure does! i made the switch to geothermal 15 years ago and that will probably be the extend of my 'greener' participation. maybe an electric car but that's far from certainIt takes TIME.
That was a smart move, Tibby. heat-pumps are much more efficient.it sure does! i made the switch to geothermal 15 years ago and that will probably be the extend of my 'greener' participation. maybe an electric car but that's far from certain View attachment 980673
yup, 6 ft deep and about a 1000 ft of loop ......Geo works great if one has the land and proper
topography. Gotta dig deeply and have the space.
