looks like it might be best to request another carto base - you'd think for that price connections would be checked before being sent out

Hmmmm, ya would wouldn't ya

Go team made in the USA!

Morning Catt :)

I put a ticket in last night Tibs. I think that all i need is another gold-plated screw that's just a smidge longer. but yeah, you would think that it would have been tested. I suspect they were in a hurry for the rollout at vapestock.

Ironic that this is the first PV that I've gotten that has had any problems at all.

Must be very very slightly conductive juice. Did you see that video for filling it?

He said people mess up flooding the connector on the bottom when they fill it. Knowing your disdain for "long" (over 30 second) video...I'll summarize:

1) Put tank on PV...bottom + tank + carto screwed in.
2) Fill tank 3/4 full and top off carto by dripping inside it or whatever.
3) place top cap on top BUT DON'T push down yet. The air pressure of pushing the top down onto the tank would force juice into the connector. So:
4) With the top on "squarely"...turn it UPSIDE DOWN and let the air go to the connector, and let the juice run off the connector.
5) Push up/screw on such that the cap is secure.

Supposedly no juice in connector. Although I would guess minor miniscule amounts could get in.

I did actually watch that video, and think i filled it properly. That was the easy part. No leaking at all. It didn't get messy until i had to take it apart cause it wouldn't fire  (and of course I'll check it again this morning... ;) cause when all else fails, leaving things alone for awhile and trying again sometimes magically fixes 'em )

Rules to keep CES safe with a mech mod:

1) Check it for a short EVERY TIME you connect something. Forever. Every time.
2) If it ever "doesn't work" when you press the button....don't keep pressing it. Check for shorts (or burnt-out dead carto).
3) Use good quality IMR batteries...like AW. (Panasonic makes certain highly-recommended hybrids too).

I have a busy morning. So...Hi all. Bye all. :)
