And do not forget... many many providers do not count deductibles and/or co-pays and/or co-
insurance toward annual out of pocket limits. As with the "
tobacco use" surcharge, it's provider-specific.
I seem to recall how ACA was to make it "easy" and to "level the playing field" with competition.
It's almost futile to attempt any kind of comparison shopping. The permutations are astronomical... and I am not at all dense. How are the uninsured poorly educated supposed to do this??? "Navigators"??? There are two (2) for a 4-COUNTY area here. I managed to snag about 25 minutes with one today... and a lot of it was just chit-chat and her telling me just a few things she probably should not have. But she did put me in touch with a Medicaid code lawyer (free, "social service") whom I will be visiting soon.
