The one we're both in Tibs, was just looking at the spreadsheet this morning and noticed some amazing numbers for various items.

could very well be - i have not looked too closely at that humongous spreadsheet!
but it still can be above-board. i remember one post where there was a request for add-ons because people in the office had decided to participate after all ...............

Yeah, I know :D, the day just started bad. vaping an Evod dry with a cotton "flavor wick" in the morning isn't a pleasant way to wake up

I downloaded the spreadsheet and opened it in Excel to sort when I noticed those numbers. Just out of curiosity, did a sum of the $totals  This is a big order!

Another side effect of not doing a spreadsheet before going live may be larger-than-expected co-ops going through.

close to 10,000 bucks, i believe ;) sure hope we won't get hit with tariffs

 :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

OK. So I don't know if I'm supposed to be happy or mad. I think I'll be mad for a while, then happy for the rest of the time.....

So.... Comcast DTA boxes....Day 4. The continuing saga.

Remember yesterday, when I said they would have to send a tech out? That I asked for "2nd Tier" support and was told that they needed to send a tech?

Well, I just got a call this morning from a support tech (One that apparently knew what he was doing) and he said "He was playing with the boxes....Does it work now?". And yes, it worked!!!!! He said the boxes weren't configured with a "rate code" or some such. Anyway, it was a config problem on their end. FOUR DAYS. FOUR. 4. and IDK how many support calls and none of em got it right. But before they send a tech for on-site checks....they must assign someone that knows what they are doing...to double check.

Anyway. That's the MAD part.

But then again, THEY ARE WORKING! :) So that's the happy part. And service call canceled. And I suppose ... spring cleaning is necessary before Easter anyway. So...a good thing. Computer room looks much better. :)

So I guess I can be happy that it's finally working and I can move on to the next part....Windows Media Center Config and/or other DVR software.

lol, atty!

just chalk it up to lesson learned and in the future insist on an on-site service call asap! ;)

i am convinced through my dealings with verizon that tech support consists of glorified phone answerers equipped with a list of problems and their most likely solutions :D most of the time they know less than you or me

I'm still not impressed that the DTA's don't decrypt channels per the service level...and Comcast encrypts almost all channels except (currently anyway) local channels and a few others. So I get 10% of what the other "Pay 9.95 a month for it" boxes get....but these are in "spare" locations so meh for now.

Saved $20.00 a month. Still...Grrrrr.......

So even if you pay for service level _______ you still need to pay extra for "full boxes" at 9.95 each in order to get all the channels you pay for (1st box free). So...Grrr. I do hear they are working on a new standard for HD boxes...so maybe they'll switch these out in time.

I do know they can (and used to) send those channels in the clear QAM (my computer has a QAM tuner but won't decrypt either ....not a "cable card" tuner). I respect their need to protect themselves from piracy, however, I think they could have a better solution. I think they are mostly "encouraging" people to fork over the extra 9.95 for each drop....bet they make a lot of $$$ on that. Hopefully, the newer solution they are rumored to be working on will be better. IDK. Maybe another config problem...who knows.

Yes. So I don't see why I should have to pay almost $120.00 per year per extra drop...Sheesh! I don't use em that much. Mostly I use the computer DVR to record Letterman while I'm asleep and the local news...so meh. If I can't record other "I'll watch it later" stuff, I don't care much right now.
