At 16000 you bet I *DO* qualify!!! My subsidy would be about $226/month. But the system says I do not qualify. It ised.
So you're talking about a bug in the system? Probably NY specific too.

...catch up on eMail
... wait (and wait and wait) for "last night"'s carving photos
While I do have rates for my preferred provider (in the event I decide not to go Medicaid), it appears I will need to pay full shot (no subsidy) if I do NOT go through the website... and then get subsidy refund in April 2015 at tax time.
"Why?" you may ask?
Because I answered ONE question wrong online.
"Why can't you fix it?" you may ask.
Because the system does NOT allow it. The answer is (currently) cast in stone.
"Why can't they make the change for you?" you may ask.
Because they are not allowed, nor will they ever BE allowed, to DO that FOR us.
"Will they ever allow you to change it?" you may ask.
By December 15th when the site will be fully functional. (Problem is, December 15th is the deadline for signing up through the website.)
"What is the question that is currently cast in stone that totallyed everything up?" you may ask.
"Do you want financial assistance in paying for your health care premiums in 2014?" STUPID STUPID STUPID me thought "financial assistance" was equal to "subsidy" (which, of course, I want) or even "tax credit" (which I would want, too). What they meant by "financial assistance" was, in essence, Medicaid. Once you say YES to that question, you are locked out, forever, in being able to buy a provider plan through the exchange.
I am unhappy.
I would highly doubt that you are the only one to answer that question that way, Bear. Hopefully when the dust settles (somewhat), they'll rethink the deadline/stone writing.
I thought you were locked out because you said you 'wanted assistance' or whatever; where the question was actually geared toward Medicare (-caid?) and not the subsidy?
Q: In recent years, hookah bars have become a popular trend in the U.S. Is smoking a hookah harmful compared to cigarettes?
A: The smoke from a hookah is water cooled, so it doesn’t feel as harsh, but it’s not filtered, so the smoke still has the same toxins in it. Basically, while you think it’s not as harmful, it actually could be more harmful because it’s easier to inhale and not cough. The second thing is, in the hookah, they put the tobacco in the bowl and place a piece of charcoal on top of it to keep the tobacco lit. So not only are you inhaling the tobacco, you’re inhaling the charcoal fumes directly into your lungs. In some countries, like in India or Egypt, where the hookah pipe is shared, smoking the hookah is associated with tuberculosis because people are passing TB from one to another on the mouthpiece.
Yeah, but they could use their own brands for marketing - e-Newport wouldn't be a bad ploy (then maybe the wife would actually switch).
BlueCross BlueShield of Louisiana got seven enrollees in a Wednesday evening data transfer from federal computers, although one may have been a duplicate, said Michael Bertaut, a senior economist for the plan.

People have 3 months yet....(well 6 really)
