UUUUUHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Angry_man_2.gif

Got a new bottle of TPA peppermint flavoring, some PG and VG frome Essential Depot (USP and Kosher) a while ago. Mixed up 100mL juice at 12% peppermint (I've been making it at anywhere from 12 to 15% for the past year with TPA) and it tasted oookkkaayy, but a bit weak. I vaped it.
This past weekend I mixed up 2 100mL batches at 15% peppermint , just tried it - no, I repeat, NO peppermint taste at all

I'm going back to the CVS glycerin & Lorann's peppermint oil

I have been mixing anywhere from 12 to 15% flavoring; but yeah, that thought has crossed my mind :). I'll prolly mix up some unflavored 6mg and mix the two (small test batches ) to check it out - if I get around to it :D. I have this major affliction called procrastinitus; in the meanwhile, I guess I'm vaping pond scum :p

Good morning (for me) Snails. :)

@TomCatt - It sounds like you may have hit that strange wall created by too much flavoring. I've never understood how too much flavor concentrate could cause no flavor in the juice, but I've done it so know it to be true and understand your frustration. If you decide to try again with what you have left, go for 10% and see what happens.

Somewhat playing devil's advocate here. I'm just as frustrated as the any of you that they don't spend more on school needs, but I also sort of understand the problems with adding a shelter since I live in a comparable area, with different yet somewhat similar challenges. Here in western Arkansas it's rock content, high water table and unstable soil/bedrock. I have a neighbor who has a storm shelter... well, actually she has a below ground swimming pool. You can pump it out completely but the next time it rains it's filled again. They finally gave up and sealed the darn thing off. You also cannot find a single home that doesn't have cracks in their walls, both inside and out. The ground shifts and so do foundations. Pier and beam is used for probably 90% of house builds here.

In Moore, they are located on what's termed as wet-soil; high clay content soil with a high water table that floods and shifts easily. I heard a builder mention that when they put in a basement in that area they actually have to truck dirt in from Kansas to fill in around it and stabilize it. Smaller, prefab one piece shelters fare pretty well, but no so much larger ones. Between those kind of problems and the fact that many communities want to get back to normal as quickly as possible, which means throwing up a building asap, I'm betting that both of those schools are rebuilt without shelters once the attention to their lack thereof is gone. It's definitely happened in other towns. Is it right? No, I don't believe so, but I do see why. I just find it ironic that the areas of the country that could benefit most from below ground building have trouble handling the structures.

Edited to add that this might be a excellent solution though; http://www.wkrg.com/story/22378986/stormproofhouseingulfshores#.UZwbPQaD3GY.facebook

It's not that I don't feel sorry for them. I do. Truly.

However, the military can figure out how to build cement bunkers (even above ground) for testing missiles and such. Why the heck is it so dang costly to have a bunker tornado shelter if you can't dig a hole? Ask for help from the Army Corps of Engineers.

Lol and ask New Orleans how those Army Corps of Engineers are doing on their levees. ;) Not trying to start anything Atty, just ribbing you. :D

I know you're already hunkered down, but stay safe Fran!

P.S.

And it's the FEMA-blame game that's got me ticked. I'm sorry for their losses...given the devastation I'm glad the losses are as low as they are. Still too many, but they are low. The warning system saved a lot of lives.

Good point Atty. Someone from OK was interviewed last night and he made the same one. If you're waiting on the government you'll be waiting a long time. The local citizens however are already on top of things, donations are through the roof. Here's hoping that they put their collective feet down and make some changes in how shelters are handled in the rebuild.

It's OK stormy because I know you take my point.

It doesn't have to be the Army Corps. But....the point is the point.

They are in Tornado Alley.
They have had this twice now in the last 14 years. (or whatever)
They rebuilt everything else.

Build a solution. Now. This time. There's not enough data to know for sure for this magnitude...but they get A LOT of tornadoes in general. They need to solve it. And if they use the army resources, state construction resources, etc. they won't get a lot of profit gouging from the labor cost side either. Get 'er done!

BTW....I'm not pointing fingers backward in time. I'm talking about GOING FORWARD.
