This thread has come to life because I sent my son who is in Iraq (he is Army Infantry) some snuff. He wants to quit smoking before he comes home and he also had complained about having to get dressed at night in order to go out and have a smoke. He had tried a e-cig but says that where he is messing with the liquid and the carts is just to much trouble.
So I sent him some snuff and snus to try.
I got a very entertaining description of the first package, it seems everyone was having some snuff, some of them were having too much snuff, but out of that so far has come three young men who really like the snuff....

And so the first phase of snuff daddy/momma was born. Those participating in phase one have their adopted sons and are sending them snuff to try.

I am of course the snuff momma to my own son.

Yesterday three packages were sent out to Iraq so phase one of the Snuff Daddy/Momma is inroute. I heard this morning that they are very excited about this and they are running low on snuff already.

I would ask all the snuff Daddy'S who want to post to use only the first name of your snuff son and do not post the address of the person you are sponsoring.

Thanks to all who are participating and thanks to those who have asked to participate, as we get more names I will make a post saying there is a snuff/snus son available for adoption.

So far we have adopted out Anthony and John both are Infantrymen serving in Iraq, both are combat vets. Both smoke and would like to cut down and/or quit.

I would suggest getting in touch with the folks at snuson.com

They have a much larger base of snuffers (sniffers?). I know lots of folks over there would be very supportive. I'm going to start a thread at snuson directing people to this thread. A bunch of there members are also members here but no longer post . I'll give um a heads up.

Edit: This is the thread I started at snuson

Wiz you are most welcome and thanks to you for your willingness to provide support.

Dredbull I am waiting on my son to provide me with some more names. They are providing some kind of security for troops building a new school so they have been behind the wire a lot and we are only getting 5 min calls every few days from him.
Once they return to the FOB I should have some more folks to sign up.

Thanks Stubby, I sent my son a email and told him to talk with some of the other squads and see if any of them would like to participate.

Hey all!
I have adopted Troop Anthony, package should be actually shipping today.

As the folks will be sharing around I made sure to send out a reasonably large "starter" set of Rooster, Honey Bee, Toque Quit, 10 smashboxes and oh yes, handkerchiefs!

I'll have to run over to snuson tonight and see what's shaking with the thread you started over there Stubby.

Later all :D

Already several people interested at snuson. I would suggest signing up over there and dealing directly with them as I would likely make a bad go-between. My guess is you'll get many more volunteers then you need at the moment, but that's a good thing.

Well my work laptop died today, which is sort of a good thing as it means I have the evening off!

Yeh

I will pick up my new one tomorrow morning so until then I am free, lots of work to do but cannot do it without my laptop!

So I will be able to head over to the other forum for a bit
DG....Perhaps we should get something going at Snuffhouse.org also...Lots of Snuffers there...Just a thought!

Neat idea dg ;). I'll continue to aid my wife in stocking the care packages, but if it goes by the wayside, an adoptions sounds not only fun, but much more personal. I love the idea :).

Well at least you now know for sure that throwing in a tin of snus of snuff will be Aokay!

They use it to get their nicotine fix and cut down on their smoking and they also use it for entertainment.

I cannot wait to here the Rooster stories. I sent some Scotch and they were doing dime, nickle and quarter sized portions to see who was the most manly snuffer. Will have to try and get them to video the Rooster ones.

Will requesting videos be like encouraging them, or they're gonna be doing it anyway? ;)

They will do it anyway, entertainment is lacking, they do a lot of silly things.

I sent home baked brownies and a can of frosting and they put on a show, one guy bet he could eat all the brownies and the frosting in one sitting, they bet he could not, they established rules on how long he had to keep everything down before he could be declared a winner, bets were placed and this one young man ate 24 brownies and a huge can of frosting.

I was told that he won, as he kept them down for the required time limit.

They will keep it in control though.

found out yesterday one of my co worker's brother in law is over there..and he smokes. But he does not want to quit.. D if there is need I can compile a care package with little or no snuff just let me know so I can get it shipped.

DB

I think I have a orphan for you if you are still interested in adopting a soldier. He would not mind a little snuff but is really looking for someone to send him fun stuff from home.

He mentioned goldfish (cheese cracker thingees) and other such goodies.

LOL he also mentioned stiletto shoes but I think he was kidding. He is very young, I think only 18. He is a Specialist in the Infantry and is a good friend of my son, he is not in the exact same place as my son, they stay in contact but this young man got moved and he really misses his old comrades. He is in Iraq.

Let me know if you would like to adopt him and send a package.

I also have another soldier up for adoption. This one is also a good friend of my son's and I also correspond with him via my space.

He is a moderate smoker and would also like to quit so he might enjoy some snuff or snus. He is 21.

Last time I chatted with him he was the saw gunner, not sure if that is what he is still doing. He is in a different squad than my son but in the same unit.

I have had a few people who wanted to send the guys e-cig kits. I just wanted to post a note here to respond to that question.

I sent my son back to Iraq with a kit and although he likes it he said it is very difficult to use over there. They are in the field a lot, there is sand and dirt everywhere, getting the juice into the carts is not possible when in the field and the batteries do not last long enough.

They like them but it is my opinion that they will not use them, at least the Infantry guys, there may be some support people over there who are closer to electricity for charging that would use them. I think my son gave his kit to someone in support.

I think I agree there DG....while e-ciggs are a nice thought...they sure don't seem as practical as snuff in that type of enviroment. There seems to be some interest generating over at Snuson from our snuff brothers/sisters over there. Expect some more Moms and Dads(Hope there's enough Kids?)
