I've found that some things I thought I'd love, I despise now and vice versa. Like, menthol. I was a menthol smoker, vaped a whole 20ml bottle of a Marlboro menthol type flavor. Can't stand menthol now. My fav of the moment is: grape bubble gum, pancake syrup and butter, cloves, and a tobacco hazelnut flavor.

Don't beat on yourself. Your taste buds are going thru changes and so, tastes/desires will change.

Also, CONGRATS ON CHANGI G THE REST OF YOUR LIFE!!!!!!

You stated you were "eagerly awaiting" your ProVari, which indicates to me you ordered it and it is on its way? Then you state it will take a few weeks to get it? Why would it take "a couple weeks" to get your ProVari? Took me only a few days to get mine to California.

Hi there ... I'm hoping it'll come sooner, but when I ordered, the availability was 7 - 10 days, so I figured roughly 2 weeks (counting business days)

Hello! I have been though my ups and downs! I want to smoke, I don't want to smoke, I like this flavor, I hate that flavor. I have not saved any money, and I am ok with that. I come here to visit with people that care about each other. If you are doing this by yourself, that is even harder. Have you tried to see if there are any vapor/vaper stores in your area? They are fun to go in and taste different flavors before you buy them. The one I go to has a lot of other customers just hanging out and sharing experiences. It is nice to be able to put your hands on some of the batteries and mods, just to get a feel for them. I started out at 50/50 VG PG, and I have switched to 70/30 VG PG. For me that is a good blend. I am using 6mg nic, and that was a little low when I first stepped down from 16mg. Everyone once in a while I will take a few puffs on the 16mg, and go to zero before bed.

Hello and thanks! This sure is all new to me - it's definitely got a learning curve, but this forum has been a lifesaver for me. Unfortunately, there is only 1 ecig store in this area, and they sell only a single brand (21 Century) of a 2-part ecig, but no eliquids to try :(. I've learned a lot through here, though, and figured I'd be spending my analog allowance on different options and samples until I hit on what will work for me. I'm very excited to get new VG/PG blends to try, and keep hunting down new vendors to look at. I just found a 100% VG vendor that I might order from next. I'm currently using 18mg and 12mg, but hope to step that down too eventually.

They told me longer than it took too. I had mine within a week though ;) I hope it gets there soon for you too.

I am learning to adjust it, and learning which juice for which setting etc. I am loving the way I can change it to find just the right vape. I use mine with the vivi nova or just dripping into an atty. It may take you a little time to get the most out of it, but once you get it, you will "get" it. LOL

Good luck with everything, sounds like if you could quit with chantix you will succeed here also.

I think that's one of the fun things about vaping - experimenting with new flavors and finding some surprising hits!

It really is. I look forward to trying new things, even if there's a good chance I won't like it. I am surprised at what I do and don't like. Can't stand hazelnuts in real like, one of my favorite vapes. My mouth literally waters when my hubby vapes pancakes and syrup it smells so good, but can't stand to vape it. Sometimes I worry about wasting money on accessories and liquids I don't really like. But every penny I spent on cigs was guaranteed to my me feel and smell like crap, and eventually lead to horrible and expensive health problems. It's never a waste of money to smoke less.

I also vaped and smoked for six months before quitting completely. It really helped to cut back gradually. Each and every cig you don't smoke is an achievement! :toast:

I'm so bummed right now. I've been a 2 pack a day smoker, and have tried to quit multiple times, including twice on Chantix. I just managed with Chantix, but was incredibly depressed once the Chantix was done - I realized I still needed the nicotine to hit my "happy" receptors, so picked up analogs again. Then, I started reading about ecigs - and it gave me new hope. I found a store in my town that sold ecigs and headed that way to pick up a starter set. These were the type of ecigs that had 2 pieces - a battery and a prefilled cartomizer. They did seem to work ok - i happily puffed on them, but somehow it still didn't really satisfy and they didn't seem to fill that need.

Then I found this forum and really started reading up on vaping and various types of ecigs. I ordered an Ego-T starter kit with lots of samples. Got it on Friday, tore into the package, put things together and started vaping. I loved it - called my family and told them I think I discovered the secret! Well, as Saturday came along, the vaping became a bit unpleasant. I still vaped, but went from flavor to flavor and couldn't seem to get any that felt right and started feeling slightly ill with each vape - and the vapes felt really harsh. I figured I might be reacting to a 100% PG liquid, so I ordered a bunch of new liquids, and decided to order a Provari for better control of ohms and resistance - I thought that I needed to try more VG type liquids and to play around with adjusting for less of a throat hit. I'm eagerly awaiting the Provari, but hoped to keep the vaping with the Ego until then.

This morning, I fired up the Ego and got ejuice coming out of the tip - yuck. I read up on cleaning atomizers, did that, and it helped, but every vape made me feel more ill - to the point I put the ego aside and caved - went out and bought a pack of analogs.

I'm expecting some new eliquids with a higher percentage of VG in this week but think I might wait to try vaping again until I get the Provari in as well, which won't be for a couple of weeks. Argh

I SO wanted this to work, and am still hoping with the Provari it will - but right now even the thought of a vape with my current eliquids sort of makes me ill :( The other weird thing I discovered is that although I have a major sweet tooth, the sweet flavorings like chocolate (!) definitely don't appeal to me at all!

Anyone know if it will work if I use a 70%VG/30%PG blend in either a Vision clear tank or a cartridge on my Ego-T or is the liquid too viscous for that?

Hoping to be a happy vaper again ... soon!

I think the best advice I can give you, based on my experience struggling with analog addiction myself,

Is to make vaping your hobby.

Invest on good mod like the Provari or use Kick by Evolve in your existing mod.
Be sustainable, get into DIY, get a good rebuildable Atty like the DID or Genesis.

And you'll be singing with all your hearts out with this new found hobby! It's so amazing.

I decided to do this more than 3 years ago, and now I'm smokefree for more than 3 years,

Welcome to the wonderful world of vaping my friend. :)

I might be going against the common grain of thought here, but it won't be the end of the world if you allow yourself a few cigs while you take up vaping.

When I started, I allowed myself to have a few cigs the first 3-4 days, vaping the rest of the time. Soon it was just a couple a day. When the one pack I had ran out, I didn't even consider buying a new pack. I was actually prefering to vape instead of smoke.

A couple weeks after being smoke-free, I allowed all my mini-batteries to run out of a charge. Realizing what had happened, I kinda freaked and had a nico fit. While a couple of the batteries were charging, I went out and got a fresh pack of my old brand cigs. I took a couple of puffs and hated it. I did end up smoking about two just to get over the nicotine withdrawal, but I never touched another cigarette since then.

I think you reach a point when the stinkies are just not desireable anymore and you end up preferring the e-cigs. So instead of putting so much pressure on yourself about going totally smoke-free, allow yourself a reasonable number per day and keep a schedule of weaning yourself off.

Good luck. YOU CAN DO THIS! :thumb:

Making vaping in to a hobby may work for some folks but I don't think that is always the answer.

I already have too many hobbies BUT I took to vaping well by simply looking at it as a way of alleviating the SEVERE withdrawal symptoms that come whenever I would try to quit smoking.

Perhaps the op would be better off looking at vaping a little like an alcoholic looks at Valium or a ...... addict looks at methadone.

I looked at vaping as a way of alleviating the symptoms that could and might cause me to abandon the idea of quitting smoking and cause me to fall off the smoking wagon and I went into this with low expectations. Honestly I wasn't all that worried about what flavors there were and whether or not I could blow smoke rings with the vapor. Later I found out I actually COULD find some nice flavors and I actually COULD blow some smoke rings with the vapor and those things were like a bonus to me.

What was MOST IMPORTANT to me was the fact that vaping could and did alleviate the overwhelming withdrawal symptoms that kept me hooked on cigarettes for a little over 30 years.

I wake up everyday grateful of the fact vaping can and does keep me from smoking. Anything about it beyond that is appreciated but not necessary. At least for me.

Hi. I'm not an experienced vapor, but I think my body doesn't react very well with PG and I felt somewhat sick whenI vaped too much with it. Recently I bought 100% VG Vanilla flavor and I'm very happy with it. Now I can chain vape for 2 hrs before bedtime without feeling sick the next day. But I don't know if 100% VG will work nicely on ego-t or provari.

Good luck, and hope you get better with your vaping experience. After all, switching from analog to e-cig should make us feel better and healthier...not vice-versa :)

My point was and is maybe you NEED a good baccy flavor to satisfy the craving and when your brain reprograms itself to the vaping you might not need it as much. I can say try not to try too many flavored too quickly it will really mess with your taste buds.

Sent from my truck using 3 toasters a broken microwave and 6 rubber bands McGyver style......Chuck Norris aint got crap on me

it's for sure the 100% pg, man 70/30, 50/50 or 100 vg is the way to go, this is my 3rd or 4th day pure vg , took a day to get used to, now im in heaven, the key to 100% vg is let the stew for a day or 2 before you go crazy on them, the longer you have them the better they get, this is literrally going to save my life as im a nicotine fiend, hell i'd smoke 4 or 5 one after another just to "hit the spot" nevermind all the pot i used to smoke...... i haven't had a single cough in over a week

Do not be bummed. This is a progressive thing for many. Equipment, balance of nicotine, and PG/VG ratio plus juice flavor isn't instantaneous. Any and every cigarette not smoked is a victory! Until your new juices get here, try and pop over to a CVS or other drugstore and find yourself some glycerin in the first aid section (probably where the band aids are or heavy duty moisturisers like vaseline are. Glycerin is VG. Take your juice, and cut it with the glycerin (ie tip out 1/3 into another bottle and replace with the glycerin. Shake well, and try that to see if that helps. I'm sensitive to PG - sore throat, hard cough when inhaling, lungs feel heavy, chest feels tight so I go with the highest VG I can (preferably 100%). It DOES mute the flavor but its better than tossing the juice you do have. Let us know how you get on. We're behind you all the way.

And I gotta say - right now strawberry/banana sure doesn't sound good to vape, but I have a feeling down the road I'll probably change my mind too, once my tastebuds recover

Yep. :) I thought it would never happen but I am sitting here vaping chocolate. And liking it. To start with though I really needed tobacco flavors. For quite a while. Lots of folk stumble about with new equipment - not just new vapers either. ;)
