Don't fret smoking while you're looking for your sweet spot in vaping! Once you get everything 'ironed out', you'll switch to vaping and never look back. Alot of us still smoked while we were trying to figure out what device, with what juice delivery system, at what watts, and what mg nico strength, and what juice we liked best. You've definately got the device thing done once that Provari arrives.:D I would suggest getting your juice delivery system in a 3.0 ohm whatever. If there happens to be a brick and mortar store near you, that might really help you with what juice, as you'd be able to sample lots of different flavors. Here's a link to vapersearch, so you can see some of the stores that are in your area.

I thought I needed to find a good tobacco juice when I started. I went through 4 or 5 and none of them satisfied me. The taste wasn't right, and I'd find myself craving a real one. When I finally ventured out into fruits, drinks, and bakery flavors is when I stopped craving cigarettes.

It never fails to crack me up! All of us did the, "But it's gotta TASTE like a cig!" then we realized, um no, it doesn't! Once I hit the no it doesn't stage, the world was my oyster!

A year and soem change down the road, I have chocolate and grape, with a bit of watermelon on the side loaded into my desk pv's. IT's amazing the changes we go through!

I haven't quit yet either and I find the vapor really harsh on my throat. I am going to order some organic juice and see if that helps. Also, have you looked into whole tobacco alkaloids? I think I am going to try that also. I also tried chantix. What a nightmare so I am going to go back on Wellbutrin. I also get extremely depressed when trying to quit and when I did the Wellbutrin 10 years ago it worked great. I have to order that from Canada and have to wait until I get paid. Anyway, my plan is to eventually just be a vapor. I am not going to worry about the nicotine addiction right now. I just want to stop smoking cigs before they kill me. Good luck and keep us informed!

Make sure to buy sample liquids from 3 or 4 vendors, if you just have different flavors from one vendor you could be missing out. Sometimes it's just one brand that doesn't feel right for you, and you don't want to be stuck with only trying that one. Most people have to hunt around a bit to find a brand they really like.

Then over time your taste changes, and what worked at first doesn't any more, and what tasted wrong first off, now seems good. There are no rules in matters of taste, and it doesn't stay the same anyway (at least in the first couple of years). By year 3 it's kind of settling down :)

Also a donut style Tip like this from TrippyTips wont let any liquids come up to your mouth again, see if you can get one of these Donuts, they come in all different sizes, the smaller ones even work great, there available at numerous vendors now =

Some seriously excellent advice here - thanks to everyone! I'm going to head out after work to the drugstore and pick up some VG - will try cutting some of my current eliquid with that to see how it works. And the Trippy tips! I never thought of those - I'll definitely be checking those out. I'm going to do things right this go-around, and be patient - let myself adjust to vaping, and consider every analog cig not smoked a plus.

...I'm so bummed right now.
...
right now even the thought of a vape ... sort of makes me ill :(
Being another new vaper, this is sounding familiar. For me, it was a burnt atomizer (clearomizer), from not keeping it wet enough or drawing too hard on it. Was absolutely sickening to use (ever light the filter end of an analog? This was worse.) Cleaning it with water/syringe helped a bit, but didn't get things tasting right. Read somewhere on ECF about baking soda/vinegar to clean attys. Gave it a try, with extra-extra rinsing, and came back the next day to find it better, but still not the way it was before. More cleanings, and eventually had it back to tasting reasonable. Then burnt it again. Repeat cleanings. Finally have it back in service. This was part of my learning: don't draw too hard on these things, and keep the hot parts wet.
I did have another clearomizer, so I had something to compare to (teaching me the importance of back-ups). I know I'm going to eventually burn one to 'unusable'. Also picked up some cartomizers, and found they gave a different vaping experience, better for juice A, worse for juice B, or just 'different' for juice C. Diluted Juice D with VG (lower nic and lower flavor now) and it went from unvapable to 'yummy!'.

I took the first step by finding a combo that worked. Didn't expect it to be perfect right from the start, just workable.
Took me 7 1/2 weeks from first vape until the 'vaping is much more enjoyable than analogs' stage, and I don't plan on going back.

...Bob
