I am done messing with everything, first when I first went to tighten everything down I had sparks thrown at me. Everything was locked and there was no connection made.
Forget the second part figured how to rethread it....

The only thing I can think of, is to ask you what kind of battery your using and take a look at your battery after reading this:
The type of switch the Caravela uses relies on the wrapper of your battery to insulate it.
The Caravela doesn't have an insulator in the switch assembly; If the wrapper of the battery isn't wrapping around and covering enough of the negative end of the battery, the exposed metal could be making contact with the little metal lip area the battery rests on, easily causing an auto-fire.
Sorry about the above post of mine. I was just so tired and aggravated that day from other problems. Basically what I did was put in a battery. I attached the top piece, i noticed that the battery was not snug and that if I flipped it upside down it would drop a little. What I did was take a screwdriver and tighten it from the top (where you would attach a rda) and when it tightened down, 1 or 2 sparks flew and burnt my hand.
The bottom push button to activate the battery was locked and it should not have made contact to where that would have happened. Am I wrong in this assessment?
It is as what Funk said about the wrapper insulating part of the bottom battery, but I am not sure. I have been using it fine for the past 2 days or so with a different battery.
