So disappointed in VV/VW mod hardware quality!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My ipv3 li has been basically thrown from across the room. Loads of nicks and scratches and it still performs the same as when I purchased it. This piece of Chinese machinery is very strong and it feels very strong also. istick 100 watt was a great performer but when putting on my Legion rda the 510 connection got stuck inside, caused all sorts of shorts and errors. Ipv4s on the other hand, it took a couple drops and the inside battery sled cracked making the batteries very loose and sometimes will turn off randomly. From my experience, a 50 dollar mechanical mod will last you twice as long as a 100 dollar regulated device. Im using a Phantom copper mod and it hits greats. No hot button issues even on a load of .18

It takes a bit to really look at a mod to see physical strength. I don't mind a bit of extra weight in construction. There are other good ones out there, but I use Vapersharks, Provari, and a Reos mod. I still have my VS rDNA30. The Vapersharks have sleeves to help protect them from scratches and bumps. The others are getting them.

I have learned to be more careful with my mods. not because it has been an issue, but what I buy is a touch higher end. Over my long career, I happened to get a lot of deco coffee mugs. They have stories, so they are around in every room. I fold a paper towel for the bottom and that is where mods get parked. Just something that I have found that helps me.

i would recommend you mechanicals but... regulated mods offers protection and an consistent vape from full charge to putting batteries on the charger, all you have to worry about is changing batteries and dial in at the settings you want to vape at

+1 on RX200...best $50 I've spent on mods this year...love it!

My MVP20W is still going strong after 10 months. Chips in the paint, and dings in the casing, from being banged around, but it still works good.
Got an MVP3.0 PRO (wanted to try sub-ohming (meh)) I'd give the build quality 4-4.5/5 With my Aspire Nautilus, at 17w, it took 4 DAYS (700+hits on the puff counter) to drain the battery from full charge, until the recharge indicator came on

I've only been vaping for like a year so I may not have the best judgment on this, but my mvp 2.0 and mvp 3 (which gets the bulk of my use) is still going strong. I assume my new Sigelei 75W will last just as long...I've dropped the mvp's a couple times on carpet and I'm 5'9 so it's nice little drop but overall I'm pretty damn careful. (knock on wood) I'd be a bit salty as a college student on a tight budget if my .... was dying within 6 months.

I did the math. .16 ohms is 26 amps. I guess I should have used "safely" as a qualifier. That's pushing the limits too far for me. Anything lower than .25 is just asking for trouble.

The quality of the VV/VW devices I've bought over the past 12-18 months have been fine. They all still work as they're supposed to.

Same here Big Me. I am still using the first ones I bought over 3 years ago. Guess I am just lucky or something. I've never had an internal charger go bad either. I do always make sure I buy authentic regulated devices. ie: Vision Spinners, Innokin MVP's and Eleaf isticks. Maybe that is why mine are still going. I don't know for sure but it has to be frustrating for the OP

I have saved a ton of money since I quit smoking. And for disclosure sake, I have never spent more than $150 on any 1 box mod. But I have spent about $500 on devices that have failed within the first four months of use.
Like many, I started with an Ego but soon became dissatisfied with the relatively short battery life.
So I started to buy VV/VW box mods that would last me a whole day at least.
I loved my MPV 2.0 immediately and thought I was good to go.
6 weeks in the micro usb charging port stopped working.
As this was the only way to charge it it became a brick. No big deal 45 bucks.
On the way to buy another one my (now spare)ego died.
My second MVP 2.0 lasted six weeks - same problem
got smart and decided to go for a mod that did not rely on a micro usb port and went for one with an interchangeable rechargeable battery

I went through an IPV mini, Eleaf iStick 40w, Hanna Modz, SIGELEI 150W and a few more
and never used the micro usb port each died within two months either with a screen problem or simply refusing to fire any of my now huge collection of clearo's.

These are not sophisticated products to manufacture

I am finally happy with my 29 dollar kbox 3 months in. It has no screen or micro usb port and I can afford another if it follows suit.

I don't want to spent 300 bucks on one because I tend to lose things.

No offense but the charging port was most likely your own fault. People need to be more careful. I fix phones for a living and have people come in to have charge ports replaced on a daily basis. I have never had a charge port break by itself. Either your cable was bad and damaged the port or you used it too much when it was plugged in.

What in the name of Zeus did you do to kill an MVP? I had two MVP2's and both are still running strong and holding a long charge. I have since went to sub ohm and have two MVP 3.0 pros that are nothing short of bullet proof.

I have only had issues with IStick 20-50's. My X-cube 2, Subox, Evic VT mini, lava box dna 200, releaux 200 and releaux dna 200 ... and 100 and 150 watt sig's all work flawlessly.

I second this. People bring mods into the shop with the micro USB broken off. Those traces are tiny and fragile, and people aren't too gentle with them.

I recommend getting a 4 bay LUC, that is my charger of choice and they are becoming less expensive with the 6 bay on the market.

I use Sigeleis exclusively for regulated. I have had my 100W+ since August '14, 150W (non TC) since November '14, 75W since November '15 (in loan to GF), and just got the Fuchai 200W made by Sigelei. They all work wonderfully and are all daily carries. My mechs must hate me since they aren't getting the love they used to.

I know many wont share my opinion but whether its Sigelei, IPV, eLeaf, Kanger, Smok, Snow Wolf, etc, I think the vast majority of these devices are junk. These are considered household names in the vaping world. But in the grand scheme of electronics, they are like buying that generic 55 inch HDTV for $200 on Black Friday. Sigelei has become especially bad with their newest products compared to the old ones.

I don't think its anything to sneeze at either. But, then I remind myself I spent more on a carton of cigs, and that only lasted 10 days

And everything is relative. Summer of 2014 I wanted a DNA30 so bad. But, a Hana was $250 and a VS was $190 So in comparison, all these $45 mods now seem like a bargain.

However, all my cheap mods are working

Op, I do not think you are alone, but I think you may be in a group of what are considered product abusive people.
You have rattled off okay to decent low cost equipment that many never have problems with, yet all of yours have failed.
Crappy luck? probably not.
Crappy product? probably not.

My Wife has broken 3 ego batteries and decapitated an eVic in just 4 months.
ALL of these devices are over 2, almost 3 years old and never failed me in use.
Hmmmmmm..............recklessness comes to mind.

I have collected dozens of mods.........why? Not because they failed or even because I didn't like any of them. Actually the enjoyment I have gotten from each has driven me to seek out other nice devices.

I guess it is all in how one cares for and looks at the things they own.

Why Provari?

I've had cheap regulated mods built in China. One's display, voltage and fire buttons fell into the mod body (no abuse) after 6 weeks use. Another one's circuit board just stopped working after the 30 day warranty.

I've had Provari's work flawlessly for over 3 years. They've never been "babied", and survived several falls onto the concrete with no ill effects.
