I am using FlavourArt, these are the ones I have: Expresso Coffee, Cantaloupe Melon, Lemon Sicily, Watermelon and Cocoa.

Is it the tobacco FlavourArt that you taste it in? I read a lot about FA in the DIY section and chose it because Nikhil (PureVapes) is using it exclusively.

I can see how FA would be a pain to work with, Expresso Coffee, for example, is so strong that I can only use 4 drops in 15 ml. I can't get strawberry right with FA, I am up to 15% and a few days of steeping and it's not strong enough. I hear they can get out of control with age, so I'll be watching for that. I also ordered flavors from Capellas, and am anxious to try them (I need to get strawberry right).

I wonder if Don would be willing to say if he uses a Dekang base? I have a Bacco and Applewood from him for 4 weeks and it has not developed into that smell; nor have any of the Vapor Bomb flavors. Not even a hint. I know they are protective of their recipes and I respect that, but I really would like to track down what that darn smell/taste is, only so I can avoid it like the plague LOL

I hope I'm not divulging any secrets, but I also know he doesn't use a dekang base. He has a large number of flavor sources and mixes everything from scratch, unflavored base with a little of this, a little of that. I adore all of his stuff that I've tried, (Peach ROCKS!) but since I've got more than enough nic base stored I don't often order. If there is a list of flavors he has that does it to you, you might try emailing him and asking if there is a common denominator among them. He's a really sweet guy and might be willing to help.

No, I don't use any tobacco flavors. What I always have trouble with is the fruits, especially the lighter, non acidic type flavors, and something used to make mixed candy types, english toffee for example.

I think people are describing the same taste I've found in most juices I've tried. But to me it tastes like mildew smells. And Liberty Flights is one of the few vendors that doesn't have it - at least not in my beloved LF cola. I've been buying sample pack after sample pack, from highly recommended vendors, and everything tastes like mildew. LF and Vapor Bomb have been life-savers. And I have the double whammy of being PG sensitive, so finding juice I like has been an Odyssey.

I have found, though, that stuff that tasted like mildew almost 2 months ago now tastes much less mildewy - so if this stuff does get better in time, I'll have enough sample bottles to vape for the next year.

Maybe we should have an "I can taste it" subforum for juice and vendor reviews. :)

Thanks! He's an artist and I don't think anyone could match his flavors. Now I am leaning back towards Dekang, so maybe it's the extraction process or the type of PG.

I'll pay close attention to all the FlavourArt flavors and let you know if I find anything. It's not in the strawberry, lemon, watermelon or cantaloupe so far, but again, your post makes me wonder if some flavors aren't diluted by FA in a PG base that Dekang also uses, and it's even possible that FA uses different bases at times.

It's very strong in Hotel and Original Red from LF to me. I can smell it faintly in Apple, BUT there's one big difference - you have 100% VG from them and I have 100% PG (this is going into my informal database - thanks!). Some flavorings are in a PG base, but Cola might not be one of them. It might be such a low amount of PG to blend the flavor that it wouldn't bother you (except for the faint mildew smell that possibly evaporates). I have read that there are some vendors that will make sure there's not a trace of PG in flavors for people who have had an allergic reaction.

I like your idea for a sub-forum. I think there's enough people who have experienced this, but for the people who haven't, they think we're all nuts. One night I was wondering if it's just women who can smell/taste it.

Libertyflights, tastyvapor, alienvisions all are decent suppliers of good juice.

There are lots of decent suppliers of good juice that sell juice with that weird taste.. It seems like a small minority of us taste ..... something..... that others don't. I don't have a problem with LF, and their VG Cola is my current all-day vape..or was, until I ran out of it yesterday--am now stalking mailman. I haven't tried tastyvapor, but AVE, which so many people rave about, has IT, whatever IT is. I was so excited to get my samples from AVE, and every last one of them smelled great and tasted like mildew (or maybe moldy peanuts). After almost two months of steeping, though, they are improving, and I may actually enjoy them some day. I've tried about a dozen flavors from Vapor Bomb, and while I didn't love all of the flavors, none of them had IT. I would love to know what IT is, so I can avoid IT in the future, or at least know how to deal with IT.

It's funny you say moldy peanuts, I was calling it fermented burnt peanuts before. I will call it IT now too :) I agree 100% that Vapor Bomb does not have IT.

Questions for those sensitive to IT?: Did you react negatively to IT immediately or did it take some time? I used a juice for 4 days (my first) that has IT and I liked the juice, but then almost suddenly I was repulsed by it. That makes me think that our immune systems take it in at first and then we start developing auto-antibody proteins against it.

i got tranquil ( reminds me little bit of hypnotic mist, maybe little bit "thinner" flavor compared to h/m) and wyatt earp. (i really like the latter) i thought it was going to be a stronger distinctive tobaccoish taste to it but it isnt....its just right.

Thanks, I will order some. I haven't gone back to tobaccos since my IT incident and I would like to try one again.

    Somewhere between here and there
I haven't ordered from Rockymountainvapor in a while but last time I knew most of his liquids were dekang. Some people like them and others hate it. Dave has always treated me well and I'd be surprised if he didn't offer to let you send it back. Did you hear back from him?

NicLiq, AVE sells flavors that contain any PG as "PG flavors", one of the reasons that they're so highly regarded. I bought several samples from them, received on March 11. I didn't like any of them, found that "off" flavor and heard that AVE juices were best if steeped, so I put them aside. I was a total noob at the time, and didn't have anything to compare them with. Now that I've found juices that don't have that flavor, I know what I'm looking for. Three of my samples are "PG flavors", the rest are pure VG. I'll go back through them and see if I find any consistent results re PG v. VG flavors.

I havent heard back yet but I only emailed a couple hours ago. But I got to thinking about the juice sitting on a shelf and thought to myself...Hmmm...I wonder if the stuff in it settles and maybe makes it taste funky....So I went and grabbed one and shook it up really good and tested it out and the IT taste is pretty much gone. So when I do hear back from him I will let him know that so maybe he could put that on his website for future buyers like me that wouldnt think to do that.

Tastyvapor is the BEST I just dont like that they dont offer smaller size bottles. Hmmmm....Maybe I will email Geoff and ask him about that. Maybe I can get him to start making them. Shouldnt be too hard since he makes them when there ordered

If your other juice is fine, it's probably not a burnt atty/carto, but if you think it may be burnt, switch it or clean it.

I haven't tried that vendor, so I can't tell you much about them. I do know that many vendors make juice up to-order (fresh). It is normal for it to have to age a week, or it just tastes like chemical crap. Try this:

Let the hot tap water run to its hottest and put it in a coffee mug to e-juce bottle rim height. Put the cap on tightly and let the bottle sit in the hot water for a couple of hours... shake it a bit every 1/2 hour.

This will help age the e-juice and blend the flavors. Some say to leave the cap off and let it "air out" in a child-safe/pet-safe place (this is separate from the hot water step).

don't meant to hijack the thread, but quickly...
I have been meaning to make a post asking about this...it made sense to me that a little warm water bath would help the flavors blend together better but didn't want to mess up what little liquids I'm able to get just yet. Thanks for the info. I think it'll be my go to steeping method if I find it works. the cap of breathing thing is just to dangerous in my house of kid and kitties!

How far are you from Barberton, Ohio? Vapor Bomb has a physical store.
I dont even know where that is around me Lol but i am certinly going to be checking to see how far away it is from me :) thanks for letting me know that.
Btw if you dont mind getting the 30ml bottles as opposed to the smaller sizes you should try Tasty Vapor. They do not have that IT taste at all. I love them I just prefer to be able to get smaller bottles in diffrent flavors because i get bored fast lol.
