Yanno, when I started this I thought great--no more going outside to smoke! I'm been vaping for almost three weeks now and immediately started vaping in the house. I have three kids all still at home. Now....after reading on the ECF for three plus weeks, I'm thinking that maybe I shouldn't. There really isn't enough research out there to guarantee that I'm not harming my kids. So my question to you is.....

Do you vape in the house with loved ones around that do not vape/smoke???

I smoked in the house, so I figure vaping in the house is much better. I have Fibromyalgia and my body couldn't stand the constant temp changes of going outside to smoke, though I did it for pretty much the first year after both of them were born. I do know that my Hubby with asthma doesn't have to use his inhaler as much now that I vape as he did when I smoked.

Yeah, If you're comparing smoking in the house to vaping in the house, I definitely agree that vaping is better. And I totally understand that Fibromyalgia is an incredible painful thing to have. I actually smoked in the garage to stay out of the elements.

But is it good for those that don't vape? I made the decision to smoke. Not my kids--so I moved my smoking outdoors. Now I've made the decision to vape...? Should I head back outdoors (or back into the garage)???

The carpet and furniture in my house has to have way more dust, mold and toxins than may pv could ever provide. So absolutely yes................parts per billion is not even a fathomable number. We all know what car exhaust does yet we still drive cars. Even with children present. Most of us even live in major cities. Anyone here have an airtight house?

Only 10% of the Nicotine we Vape is absorbed into our body is what i believe the agreement was one this forum....

If your Vaping 24mg thats 2.4mg getting into you...What happens to the Rest? 21.6mg of Nicotine Floating in the Vapor? Every smoke machine i've seen for sale in places like Party City and such have said please avoid if you have ashma..Don't they use a PG Mix also? If PG was safe why would they have that warning?

I vape around my 3yr old...but things like this i've really wondered about...

no one really knows what we absorb for sure....
but as far as the warning: there is also a warning on blow dryers that say do not use in the shower. They're most likely just covering the bases.

I think the reason they say not to use the machines because they put out a constant fog which could restrict the actual amount of oxygen, air, whatever you want to call it. If your up close and personal with it. I know some people with asthma can't handle that kind of mix. As with the PV's we use it's not constant and dissipates quite quickly so there's really not much of a threat. Machines that produce the fog linger a lot longer and could aggravate someone's asthma in that aspect. I'm not a doctor or anything but that would be my guess. As far as in the house with the kids. It depends on the day really. Sometimes I just like to sit outside, enjoy the sunshine, and puff away. My daughters do say that it's a lot better since we don't smoke anymore. I think that's more about the smell then anything else though.

The levels of PG are not going to harm you, thats my opinoin on the matter. The traces are so small, for instance the juice I have has only the pg in it, no dg. The announce this statement, and everyone is scared. The traces are so infinite, how much pollution is in the air when u walk outside. My 6 year old loves the fact, that i use my "fake" cigarette, (thats what she calls it). It diccipates after you blow it out, if it was really that dangerous, it would loft around, and affect ur house like smoke. For instance, I have been vaping in my house for 3 months now, and there it hasnt made the quality of the air any different than normal. Once real informative testing is done in the US then i guess, people wont be so scared. But, I have received actual ingredients for my juice, and now what in it, and now it passes all regulations overseas. Did u guys worry this much when u smoked, over 10,000 chemicals in one cigarette. To only one smally traced bad chemical in the ecig, with a limited test. Dont be that worried, real proof will start surfacing, as real unbiased testing is being done now. Look at it this way, any of us could be dead tomarrow, from a car accident. worrying ur life away will not help anything. Keep on vaping.

*grin* Welllll--I never said I'd stop vaping... That said, you're right I didn't worry too much about that stuff when I was smoking mainly because by the time I understood completely what the consequences were I was so addicted it was a moot point for me personally. Plus I wasn't married with children. Keep in mind however, as we discovered with cigarettes, we learned over time just how toxic they (cigarettes) are. When I started smoking I was young and indestructible. Now....not so much! *grin* I'm no scientist but that vapor doesn't just disappear as if it never existed does it? I mean, over time (like the nicotine that you can see on the wallpaper of a room someone has smoked in for years) wouldn't it build up... somewhere?

I'm sure that as the results of testing are made public--some of that information will be biased both for and against vaping. I just wondered how others here are handling it? Treat it as an unknown and remain cautious about where and who's around while vaping?

What about the "it looks like smoking, is much more expensive than smoking to start up" - will it lead to smoking? That is my main concern, I think:confused:
You have to raise your own kids.....................that's why they're YOUR kids. Should we base the world on someone's fear of communication with their own spawn.

DH and I are at an impasse on this, that's why I asked that. I believe we need to be honest and I spend more time with my family rather than locked up in our bedroom vaping. DH thinks it will cause them to want to smoke later on. Just wondering about opinions.

I vape inside. My kids and mother love it! Not only are they so excited that I stopped smoking but that I spend more time with them now. (I used to smoke only in my room)

Add to that ...they really love the different scents from the vapors. I use a lot of different flavors and the aromas are great! My sons say it makes them hungry. lol

I know there's not a ton of data on what the vapor may put into the air but logic says it's little to nothing and way better then whatever my cigs used to put in the air.

Lastly, I like my boys seeing that Mom made a change for the better, for herself and for them. :) They are proud of me and I enjoy reveling in that feeling.
