I vape around my niece all the time. She is 5. She has actually asked my about my juice. I explained what it is and explained how she is never to mess with it. She understood. I also vape around my girlfriend's kids who are 7 and 10. I see no issue with vaping around kids as long as you aren't blowing clouds in their faces and stuff. It isn't like with cigs were they pollute the air around you.

Would you vape in another room with a 7 month old in the house? I have twin boys that will be 7 months the 30th. I smoke outside but wondered anyone's take on vaping in their home with small kids/babies.

Stacey, I'm in the same situation as a grandparent. I have vaped with them in the same room but not close to them, but it will be in the next room from now on. I don't want to take the chance at this point that they will think of vaping as 'cool' because grandpa does it. Once they are old enough to understand I will look at it again.

I don't generally vape nic, but if I did it wouldn't make any difference to me. With the amount I vape, there is not enough vapor in the room to make any difference to anyone.

You need to Decide what YOU are comfortable with, not what Strangers on the internet would do.

That said, My house, my rules. I vape at home and often. I have 3 grand children living here. They are not overly concerned with my Vaping and very much prefer it to my EX-smoking habit. I would keep my distance from infants simply because one never knows what an infant may be allergic to.

i have two grown boys. 10 and 13. they knew i smoked, and they know i'm vaping. however, i don't vape in the house, and i don't vape where they can see me. it's just me. my father smoked in the house and around my sister and i all the time. we both smoked for awhile. i don't want my kids thinking smoking or vaping is ok. if they decided to do so later in their life, that's fine. and i'm sure they will say i did it forever. but still... just want as little exposure as possible.

I wouldn't have any issue with it. My boyfriend smokes regular cigarettes around his daughter (I personally don't have any). I grew up with my Grandfather smoking around me (grandparents raised me, not my parents). I never had breathing problems or became asthmatic. He did however burn me by accident quite a few times when we were playing (and cigarette burns HURT!).

It's been awhile since I've looked into all of this, (stopped vaping for the past 3 yrs, back at it as of today) but last I researched it, the vapor was really no different than a breathing treatment and there was little to no nic. in the 2nd hand vapor. The only reason I wouldn't want to do it directly in front of a child would be for them to see the habit. With babies, it's certainly better to be safe than sorry, I can smell my husbands vapor so Im sure the scent could be irritating.

We should keep to the facts

The facts for me are that this is not my infant. And there have been no studies on the effects of vaping on a 7 month old infant.

I'm a person who believes in giving a baby EVERY POSSIBLE advantage, since they will be walking this earth for a long time.

Since I myself am working with a dermatologist, as well as an allergist/immunologist on some "issues" I'm having with vaping (and it is vaping related, but it's taken about 6 months of coordinating causes, substances, metals, and other factors to narrow down what is happening, etc.) I guess today I would say no, I would not vape around an infant given that we do not know what they may be allergic to.

That in no way suggests that vaping is dangerous to the average person, but obviously, some of us have heightened immune responses to certain things.

Vaping gear is like firearms, the sooner they are exposed to it the better which means our kid was sleeping with his blanky, a Super T ELA and Glock (no round in the chamber of course, safety first!) in his crib at 4 months. We put a pacifier on the drip tip and he was blowing power clouds before he could walk. He's only 4 years now but he has a deep Clint Eastwoody voice.

Aren't you worried that blanky is a bit wimpy for a 4 month old?!!

Dont bubblewrap kids, since all the for the children crap got modern kids have gone more and more stupid and health issues have gotten worse... I wasnt bubblewrapped when i was a kid, people were chain smoking near me and getting bruised and dirty was a daily thing... Im healthy and my immune system often pick up animals in the woods and skin them alive... My bubble wrapped friends on the other hand gets every disease known to mankind if a man 100 miles away coughs...

Im not saying you should grab a 0,1 ohm sub kit and blow clouds in rythm to their breathing or grab a shovel and dump crap on their heads... But dont worry so much about children, the more they are exposed to at a young age the more resistant they will be when they grow up...

A great example is my own daugther, if she drops a cracker on the floor and she eats it i dont worry and the same with her pacifier... She's 2,5 years old and has only gotten medicine ONCE...
Her cousin, drops a cracker, gets a new, drops pacifier, it gets boiled... Sick at least once a month...

Step away from the babies and vape where there is some ventilation, kitchen vent or a window but dont act as if the flaps of butterfly wings will kill them...
