So I have been going good for 3 or so months and I am very happy with my current set up. I currently have a iTaste VV v3 and a iClear 16. I have gotten an extra iClear so I have just been swapping them around when I want to try new flavors. Well since I have decided that i am going to keep at this I want to upgrade to something to add to my collection. I was looking on fast tech today and was looking at some of the ones they have. I stumbled on the iTaste SVD, as well as the iTaste MVP. To go along with one of these I am going to get a pro tank as well as a iClear 30. Now between the SVD and the MVP what would be the best choice? I have heard lots of great things about the MVP but I really like the look of the SVD and both are VV which I have grown to like alot when trying different juices. When looking at the SVD on fast tech it doesnt look like it comes with a battery so would I have to get a 18650 battery as well as a charger to complete the package?

Yes you would need a battery and a charger to complete the package for the svd. If you are looking at the MVP just remember ft only carries the v1 of the MVP not the v2. The v1 is good but you can't check the ohms on it like you can on the v2. And if I'm not mistaken the v2 also does VW. The svd doe vv and VW as well as check the ohms. With that being said both devices are good devices. What it boils down to is if you want to get the rechargeable batteries for the svd and charger or go with the all in one MVP.

Hope this helps out in any way. Welcome to the vaping world!

To complete the SVD you would need at least one (more useful - 2 or more) batteries and a charger. You can use pretty much any batteries in the SVD as it is telescopic - I mostly use mine in the shorty mode with an 18350. It is HUGE with an 18650 in it.

That being said - I have both an MVP2 and an SVD and although both are great - I certainly prefer the MVP2. The technology in the MVP2 just provides a perfect smooth vape every time. The SVD is great, but MVP2 is better. Also it comes with an internal battery that will last a few days and a charger.

I am certain you will be happy with either one, they are both awesome - but MVP 2 is my :2c:

This is just what I have learned and my opinion. So write this off completely if you don't like or agree.

If your looking at fasttech you have access to almost every mod clone and RDA/RBA. Check out some of the mechanical mods, they tend to be smaller, and if it telescopes you usually could add a "kick" which is a circular circuit board that will allow you to set your voltage or power. The pro tank is what I started with and never had problems with them until I got a drip tank and i needed a different feel and loved the flavors. Also some tanks like the "Rocket" is a clone of a very popular high end atomizer that isn't excessively difficult to build. Once i was exposed or owned my own drip tank i found out that the flavor i liked had so much more to it and I could try different flavors to find my favorites. WARNING: This step could possibly make you go on an expensive quest to get the best vapor possible. Not knowing that it can get that great is.

Get your batteries state side, they got copied also. This could become dangerous if they are not really what they say. Also I have read that batteries and USA customs can become a terrible hold up. Hardware comes thru great. Batteries and juice more time than I would want to invest.

i know a CA vendor that I get my batteries from and also has fantastic mechanical mods that are clones but are not. The good from this and the switch from this one and he is in CA.

i agree with the above information, I bought a tesla with the intention of never letting it leave the house. It was always in my back pocket.

Im writing this this a second time cause something messed up, but I think this was the meat n potatoes.

I hope you get the most excellent PV and it suits all your needs!

rob

Edit: with my VV/WW i found a setting that i always used. If you find the same the kick s a great option. Just a little usage about me, I'm a musician and always have a PV in my back pocket, so i like portability and i use 18650's due to time i can vape, but I'm getting some 18350's cause they are big. Good luck!

I agree... I think the MVP 2 would be a better choice at this point. You'd save money on batteries and a charger although somewhere down the line you will likely own a device that you would need them for anyway so........ it's just a matter of how much you want to spend at this point. But as CreepyLady pointed out, the MVP 2 seems to have a more consistent hit to it.

go over to 101vape.com and get yourself the MVP 2 for only $40. And snag a Protank II and some extra coils and get ready for some serious vaping. I started on the Itaste VV3 with the Iclear 16's too but once I found what a difference the Protank II made over the 16's, I'm happy with all my mods. JMHO!! Keep on vaping!!

i do not own a mvp, i do own an svd... it is not that big... the way everyone talks about the size of the svd is insane... is it wider yeah... with a 18650 in it is it longer. yeah, is it a little heavy, sure...

but people talk about dropping their svd, it hitting a brick, and the brick takes more damage than the svd!

you can replace the batteries, so no worry about pass through, get 2, or more batteries... keep em charged... when one dies, pop it out, pop a new one in, toss dead batt on charger, and voila... pass through... who needs one?

it does just about everything the mvp does... the best thing, is eventually you are going to migrate to mods that require batteries, its going to happen... (well not 100% but from the sounds of it, it is likely) why not get the svd, get a battery charger, and a couple of batteries...

the mvp has a 2600mah battery, my panasonic 18650 is a 2900 mah...

again i am not saying the mvp is bad... i just think the svd is awesome

Functionally, the MVP V2 and the SVD are very close. If you like a telescoping APV, then the SVD. If you like the box format, then the MVP2(and not the MVP V1). If you can, go to a local B&M vape store and hold them in your hand. Personally, I prefer the tubular format and I love the telescope. The SVD in 18350 mode is not that large. I have both, or did have both. If I was going to do it all over again, I would most definitely buy the Sigelei V3/V5. Tighter machining and form factor, a tubular telescoping elegant APV. Ego and 510 threading, will charge your cell phone (Sigelei V5) if you like. Better menu system and more amps on the Sigelei too with higher voltage and watts. About $15 more than the MVP V2 but a much higher quality build than either of the iTaste's, imho. YMMV. My two cents.

Here's my recommendations for APV's under $100:

1. Sigelei V3/V5 (telescoping tubular form factor)
2. iTaste 3.0 (stick/ego form factor)
3. iTaste MVP V2 (box mod form factor)
4. Vamo V3/V5 (stainless steel only - tubular. Hit or miss on quality. I have three that all work well, but others....not so lucky)
5. iTaste SVD

Honorable Mention: Evic V2 (two head screws).

Check it out: The new Sigelei Legend looks interesting and is brand new.

Good luck in your GearQuest. Welcome to the Forum, power up and vape on!

Ok you got me, I'm ordering from here and getting this. That is a damn good deal for the package. I have had a hard time finding good places to look for products to buy besides fast tech so I keep stumbling upon these sites when I read different posts.

I would like to reinforce that the MVP2 is on sale for $40 right now at 101Vape. You will have it in your hands weeks earlier, and you will also support a local, US business, even though they are made in China.

The ProTank2 is a great recommendation, it can take some fiddling with, and a bit of a learning curve from what you are used to (more leaks, gurgling, replacing heads etc...) but once you understand how it works, and all goes together, any issue will be easy to diagnose and repair.

I posted the other day for newbies to not throw anything away at first. As you get into more sophisticated devices, you will learn more about them, an as it follows, you will understand your old gear better.. this, of course, leads to your old tanks, heads, batteries having a whole new life!

I know, right!? I am always finding new sites here that I hadn't stumbled on myself. Just got juice from MtBakerVapor and it's really good. I thought it was about the cheapest juice I had seen at $5/15ml or 7.50/30ml.. THEN, just today (the day my order arrived) I was introduced to this deal...

Azure Vaping Premixed Liquid Special

That's a 120ml bottle for $16... whoa! I will be ordering one or two and reporting back.

Welcome to the rabbit hole. See you periodically on the journey, as it never seems to end.

Welp my MVP V2 arrived from 101vape. 2 day shipping was really nice and came with an iClear30 which hits like a charm. I like this thing MUCH better then my iTaste VV. Thank you for the recommendation for that deal I couldnt resist not getting it!http://i.imgur.com/0R0zMGnl.jpg?1

I was disappointed with Mt Baker Vapors juices? Maybe its just me but I live very close to Vapor Trails NW and all the juices I have gotten from them have been delicious. I just got Purple drank which is amazing and my usual Mt Dew which is very delicious as well.
