So how many people switched to the 510 and kept it as their main PV?

I don't know. Probably a lot; the 510 (atomizer) is extremely popular. These days, the eGO (and its cousins, Tornado, Riva, Hello 016), which use the 510 atty, may have supplanted the 510 package (i.e., battery).

However, what is most popular may not be the best for you. You might prefer the Kr8 (cartomizer-based) or the 901 or M401 ... or my my favorite: the 801 (and other penstyle atomizers).

So i am pondering how many people switched from one PV to the 510 and it is now their favorite and main pv....? It seems as it would be 90% lol.

What happened is that people liked the lower ohm 510 atomizer (better vapor) but not the short life of the 510 kit battery, so some just went to a 510 based mod (polls confirm this) where they kept the atomizer and substituted a longer life battery. Many just stayed with the kit batts and got PCC's and Passthroughs. Others went elsewhere. What really changed the equation as Don points out, is the eGo, Tornado, Joye eGo and a few, but not all, of the clones/copies of those, and many of those that had "gone elsewhere", revisited the 510 based eGo.

The eGo batteries are good for at least 5-6 hours of fairly heavy vaping and I've seen many reporting longer. And while the diameter is larger than the skinny batts, (they're smaller than any of the mega or XL type batteries - the 510 megas or KR8 pool cues ;-) the cone and size really help out on aesthetics and 'balance' and it doesn't cost as much as the average tube style mod and is sleeker than most of them.

With the new mega Cartoz and atty/cart combination, I'm guessing there will be even more converts - the giant 1.8ml (advertised - 2.5ml actual) cartomizer and cartridges are good for 5 hours of vaping in my experience. And while a huge capacity, the mega Cartomizer is actually shorter than the regular eGo with the regular 510 atty and cart. The mega Atty and Cart are a bit longer but not that much, although imo, they match better aesthetically with the 900mAh eGo battery that will run 8-10 hours.

All of that, the more favorable ohm rating for the 510 atomizer for the best vapor, and the quality of the Joye product, adds up to the popularity of that model.
