After a few back and forth emails, this was the end result.....unfortunate but they didn't want to budge lol maybe everyone should try so they can hear our voice a little louder. They have the right to do as they wish, its their company....when told the first time no, I asked if patches gum etc were allowed that ecigs produced no smoke whatsoever and were similar to the above...

Hi Timothy,

According to our policy as previously stated, Starbucks only allows smoking in designated areas. While this policy includes electronic cigarettes, it does not pertain to chewing tobacco, snus, snuff or nicotine gum or patches. However, such tobacco products would be location sensitive, meaning the management team at the store would have the final say.

Tim, thanks again for writing us and thank you for your feedback regarding electronic cigarettes. If you ever have any questions or concerns in the future, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Warm Wishes,

Marlene S

swarley - are you kidding? you cant vape but you can smoke? ...or perhaps it is a matter of employees not appearing to smoke on company time?

when I was a teen I had a mohawk and a pierced nose. I worked 2 jobs. One in a jewelry store and the other in a restaurant. I had to cover my hair in the restaurant but my nose piercing was OK.
but at the jewelry store I had to take out my nose piercing and could show off my mohawk. There is just no way to know what goofiness goes through the mind of management!

before this past week I thought "what is so offensive about vaping?" the old perfume argument came to mind....if stinky stuff is ok fruit flavored vape should be too. Then I got sick this week. I cant vape at all and the smell of the bfs vape sends me running. I cant stand how it smells right now! of course I am not hanging out in public places either!

In any case, if you visit boulder colorado you wont be allowed to vape or smoke in any outdoor spaces of restaurants or bars. no can do on the patio!
There is no smoking at all in public areas within 15 feet of any doorway.

i guess I have gotten used to it. when I go to south denver I can smoke (vape) on the patios of most restaurants and it always seems weird to do so!

Why did you bother? It's not surprising HQ had some lawsuit-resistant politically correct boilerplate ready to copy/paste out to you.

Better to beg for forgiveness...

I bothered because I was sitting outside in 90+ weather lol

I bothered because I wanted to see it in writing whether or not it was allowed. Not just from an employee. I asked for a link I never got one. I'm sure if I look I could find it. That's all

I understand both sides of the argument. Sure its 'Vapor' to us but to the rest of the world they see this 'SMOKE' coming out of our bodies. So it must be bad second hand right?

Fact of the matter is society is plane ignorant and Must get educated on The Facts of Digital Cigarettes. However when society gets educated doesn't mean we will be accepted with open arms and ultimately we will always be pigeon-holed into vaping with those darned stinky analog users.

I make no assumptions about my vaping. I never ask anyone if I can vape inside when I show up for a new contract. I just go out to the designated areas and click my eGo five times and take a toke.

I do find it funny how when people switch from Analogs to Digitals we think we should have all these new entitlements, as if we get this big pat on the back and gee whiz that means we should vape in the office, in the theatre, while having sex et al. That cracks me up.

I can imagine someone starting up an eCiggie at a Starbucks. Would be an effing up-roar! Pardon my French y'all. Americans are not ready for it. The Europeans have a much better go of accepting such things.

.

I would merely point out the COMMERCIAL on TV that explains it and tells us it is OKAY to smoke in restaurants etc. and act all dumb as I vaped there.

I have vaped in my local Starbucks many times no one has ever said anything. I don't stealth vape nor do I vape large plumes of vapor. I just chill and act as if nothing is out of place. If a employee ask me to quit I will with vaping it's much easier to ask for forgiveness than permission. And you get to vape way more than if you were to ask
