I decided i wanted to try a fused Clapton coil with dual 26g for the core and 30 for the wrap.
Now would be the funny part. My drill decided not to work and being the stubborn one i decided to make it by hand.
3or so hours later and a lot of back tracking, I had enough for to 5 wraps that run at 0.25.
I am actually surprised by the performance. I have one to my friend and we are still running them 2 weeks later.

The one thing i noticed, they get HOT if i run them at the wattage i normally would for .25.
I have found that running them around 24-35 watts is best for flavor and still chucks massive clouds.

Had anyone else tried these coils? I'm interested in your experiences in wattages and performance.

I use dual fused claptons for pretty much all my RDA's but cant say I've ever hand wrapped them, dont have the patience!
I'm assuming here that you are using duel coils? When I wrap my claptons they tend to come out at .22 after glowing and pinching etc. I run them at around 60-70 watt and they dont really get overly hot... not too hot for me anyway.
Performance is spot on, hence why it's pretty much the only coil I use nowadays, I tend to wrap a load in one go, cut them down to individual coil lengths and store them in a little tube in my vape case, should I need to change a coil on the fly.
Just out of interest, what setup are you running these coils on? Maybe someone here can help with the overheating issue?

Yup its dual. Im using a kbox200 with a mutation x v4 and i think that's the issue.
When i kick up the power is when it vapes hot but i believe it's because there is very little room for those coils lol. I added the clear spacer and it's much better.
The flavor is great but i aka just got my twisted messes rda today for my birthday and wow...that thing chucks but i think the mutation is better for flavor.

First. love the name. and the pic.
EXTERMINATE.
Second. Wrapping by hand? What are you the doctor? You have no concept of time? lol
ouch to the hands.
i like using claptons (alhtough not fused, i buy premade rolls of clapton)...but the ramp up time is too long to use it at below 50 watts. Id go with more airflow in order to reduce the heat.

certain RDAs have turbine fans in them now which cuts down on the heat. . Maybe more of a diameter?

Thanks. Like i said i was REALLY bored. I also work night shift as a software engineer so sometimes there's plenty of time. My fingers were pretty mad though
I agree the ramp up time is slow at lower wattages. I think my spot is around 74. The spacer and added airflow help the temp, i think it was a proximity thing as the mutation isn't the best for crazy coils

Ok, so I just dug out my Kbox and mutation x V4, yeah it does get pretty warm! Also along the front of the mod where your screen is? Your right though it does seem to be a proximity thing, I had to let the thing cool down a while before I could unscrew it!
Glad to see it was the setup. I have noticed it around the screen now that you mention it.
Think I'll stick with some parallels in the mutation for now.
Thanks for testing!
