So, Patriot Clone IS HORRIBLE

A friend I got into vaping was so excited, she bought a crap mod, but it looked like she got the patriot RDA. Upon closer inspection, it is about 5 mm taller than mine, and only has one ~.75mm airhole. I build her a nice dual coil setup, before i noticed the minuscule airhole. You can't even HIT it. You'd have better luck sucking a watermelon though a waterhose. Her boyfriend got... something. I don't even know what it is. When the cap is locked onto the o rings, it's tiny airhole is below the juice well, so it's as if there wasn't one at all. I looked up the RDA's, both are about $5. They paid over $30 for each one.

-sigh-

Be careful. If you bring any friends into the vaping community, make sure you go with them when they purchase. I'm about to go harass a shopkeep.

I boughta 20mm clone here in Vegas, and it is nice. Had to drill out the airhole, but had to do that on every rda I own. I just opened up the stock one to 1/16", and drilled straight thru to the opposite side. The stainless is a little tough, but a cobalt drill bit, cordless drill took me about 2 minutes. Rather than harass, I would try to get a new cap, and have them drill it out. I only paid $15, so a little fiddling was ok by me.

Chipotle.
I had to drill out the air holes on my IGO-W and on my RSST, stock holes were tiny. Air hole enlarging is one of the first things MANY MANY people do. Unless the RDA already comes with an adjustable airflow like the Trident most people enlarge the stock holes, it's not hard and takes very little time to do properly.

First RDA I ever purchased (nimbus) I drilled it out the first day. I couldn't see any user being comfortable with the stock air holes and it just made sense.

It's a good thing that many rda's with no AFC come with small airholes so that you can gradually go higher and higher with drill bits til you find your best fit.

Sorry to hear about your friends OP. Sounds like you're friend's BF got shafted on his RDA. They should've gone to the shop with you or contacted you first. :(
