You must be a police officer, I used that phrase many times while I was a MP in the Corps. We would be having our war games and all of a sudden there would be a few guys just walking through a concealed check point, crazy days. I would always feel sorry for these folks who are trying to cross the border got all the way to Camp Pendleton and then run into a ambush we have set up.
I have much respect for multi-linguists. I've been trying for years to gain some functional fluency with Spanish, and I'm not even close. Then again, I haven't truly devoted myself to the endeavor.
In my line of work, being able to say "Sit down and shut up" is usually sufficient until someone fluent can arrive.
