I ordered one recently, it should be here this week. I'm new to vaping in general, and I'm not sure exactly what to call it. E-Cig? PV (personal vaporizer)? I don't think it's a cig-a-like really. I'm just looking to see what to call it, and how the quality is. I've heard only good things, but how about some long-time users? Also, what's generally considered a really good vaping setup? I think I'd like a wickless system at some point.

That'd be it, yes. They looked good, and a site I found (ECCR) rated them rather highly, especially for the price. What exactly is wrong with them compared to a high quality/expensive model.
It's an excellent kit to start with - I did! It's reliable, good warranty, and the tanks behave exactly a you want them to in that they don't leak! I don't know if you ordered any samples of their juice, but it's really good

it's def a step up from an ecig and is basically an EGO battery starter kit. many people use them but most move up to something a little better after a while, the problem with this system is having to always remember to buy the correct tanks(resistance) to work with the battery voltage (the connector is industry standard)
this would classify as a PV and the quality is decent and even if you move up this will always make a good fall back or back up. i have started several people on this same type of battery, some stuck and a few went up to an ego twist style (the twist is the same battery but you can adjust the voltage)
the triton tanks are actually from Kanger and are called T2's you cannot rebuilt or tear down the tanks but they can be cleaned and the little atomizer head can be changed out for different resistances or when they wear out..
as far as quality the battery should last a good long time, the tanks work well and there shouldnt be any issues, as for moving up each step you take the experience will get that much better.

In my experience and research I have found that "most" people vaping who start out with this type of vaping device upgrade to an more tunable device (weather it batteries or tanks) .Within a short period of time, from weeks to mos. After they have learned to use the adjustable devices they put the beginner package aside, (for a back-up) or PIF.
I understand everyone needs to start somewhere and this package is just that a starting point.
I am sure there are many reviews on this device. I just have had no need to research it. So I can not say weather it is worth the money or not.

It isn't an "industry standard connection" they use kr808d-1 threading. Commonly referred to as simply 808 threading/connection. The outer threading is ego threading and some ego threaded devices will work on this and some will not.

Did you try Tribeca, Voodoo, or Belgian Chocolate yet? You must! You're going to need more tanks for all of this - those Halo tanks really are tanks when it comes to reliability in my experience! Have you visited the Halo sub forum yet?
the outer threading is Vgo (slightly different for regular ego threading)
VGO is just the term for ego outer threads and 808 inner threads. Standard ego cones etc will still fit. It's just that sometimes things that have ego threading only don't fit properly and sometimes they do. I know, I used something similar for about a year and a half (bought from smokeless image). The halo triton is basically a t2 with VGO threading.

Also there is an upgrade available that has the same threading, they sell variable voltage batteries as well. And there are actually quite a few options for toppers, between halo and smokeless image. Everything those two sites sell is interchangeable

This is both a cautionary tale and a good laugh! This is not intended to belittle the OP, he is an innocent victim here. There is no protecting people who don't know any better from fools like this reviewer.
Halo triton is good until you start getting into some issues :/ I have the g6 and Halo triton. It's really good but becarefull about ordering the tanks sometimes they are defected :/ I love it with the TriBeCa and Belgium chocolate best luck

your off to a good start , and probably saved a lot of money see i started with the blu and green smoke types and just spent hundreds to find the mod i use now wish i knew then what i know now..good luck and try their E juice top quality stuff I like the Tribeca and Voodoo just had to let them steep to perfection ..
I think defective clearos are found all across the board in any brand. I've tried a LOT of different clearos, and there is something for everyone, but triton tanks are the most maintenance free I've found. (And yes I tried a lot of ego too).

I have A Halo Triton Kit as well as An MVPv2. Halo was where I started. First thing to do is replace the coils with the lowest Ohm you can get from the Halo Website. That will improve you vaping experience with the Triton tremendously. Made a big difference to me anyway. The advantage to the MVP is adaptability with Watts and Voltage to different juices and tanks. The thing I dont care for with the Halo is the threading. it is different than 90% of the tanks out there. Just their preference but most shops sell the ego threaded items and dont carry the 808 that halo uses. This means you have to order the parts for the Halo. Good Luck and Happy Vaping.
