I am always a fan of paying a bit more for something in exchange for having the craftsmanship be higher quality, which is why I didn't really bat an eye when I bought my Provari. I got to wondering, what else is out there, outside of our vaping Addiction Disorder, that you have picked up and loved? For example, I have this Midori notebook that I pieced together from the Goulet Pen Company, and love the damn thing.
Have any trinkets or heirlooms that fit the quality mold of a Provari?

Ah, I agree, especially with knives. I used to buy cheapy knockoffs from ebay, but quickly realized that I have strange affinity for japanese steel.
Now I have to look up what a blendtec is, lol!

Like a VitaMix, but it's the one used in smoothie shops. I had a decent blender from Cuisinart, but I killed it making smoothies with it.

Somewhere
Ninja Smoothies
Remote control indoor Helicopter for my cats. BWAAHAHAHAHAHA  (they just follow it around in the air, btw, I don't abuse my cats, but I like to mess with them a lot.) One hates the Vacuum, so I go and put my hand on it every so often and he runs like hell to hide.
Flash Camera Micro Welder that I built, with volt meter (aka, Spark-o-Matic 2 aka SOM2)

Surface Pro and Nokia 928 , they Rock.

The N9 does look cool, I was waiting to what the Ubuntu Phone was going to do
Now I will wait and see where that N9 with Meego goes.
Linux on a phone could be cool. But I will wait till it develops much further along.

Edit: ok,, need to watch Tizen

I tend to go all out with most of my hobbies...

Start cheap and escalate quickly to top of the line...

Guitars for example... Started with a cheap Yamaha electric, went to an Epiphone Les Paul Custom... Now I rock an ensemble of PRS Custom 22/24 10 tops, Gibson Les Pauls, American Deluxe Strats, Ibanez Prestige, Taylor Acoustics... I have gone through a number of high dollar amps from Marshall, Mesa Boogie, Bogner, and Fender... The older they get, the more expensive they become... It's gotta be more expensive than just about any other hobby I could have taken up...

And back in the day when I raced R/C cars, I was only using the best buggies from Team Associated, best motors from Trinity, best speed controls from Novak... That was another money pit...

Thankfully I am very happy with my guitar line up, I don't race R/C's anymore, and my vaping hobby is pretty settled in... Now I have focused on fish tanks... And yeah, that's gonna be just as ridiculous as every other hobby I've ever taken up!

Bah... Sometimes having a good paying job is a bigger inconvenience than being poor... I'm certain I had more money to my name when I was a kid than I do now!

I like the guitar list.
But slight offense taken at the "cheap Yamaha"
- Because one of my "uncompromised" purchases was this guitar.
Mine's exactly like this - and yes, I bought it when it was new, like 30 years ago, and it's still fantastic - just a unique, fat, sweet, excellent guitar.

What is it with guys and guitars? My husband has a similar collection... les pauls, gibsons, fenders... they're all over the house (sorry, don't know much about guitars). He's tone deaf, can't keep a rhythm to save his life... I don't think he can even hear a rhythm...

Son also collects guitars... but HE can PLAY. He is currently in a small local band as bass player.

My husband is currently trying to sell a 12 string guitar... anyone looking for one of those:p?

Mine was seriously a cheap piece of crap Yamaha though! I got it in the early 90's and it was the cheapest guitar in the store... Cheaper than the Squires! :)

And I play my guitars! Trust me, I would have never spent so much on them if I didn't know how to play... I've done several bands over the years, and currently play in a trio with 2 acoustics and a vocalist... Best music I've ever made... Guess the loud factor is wearing off

Just kidding - I know the kind you mean!
If I was looking today, I'd probably want one of your PRS 10-tops!

Man, I almost forgot...

I only ride Specialized bicycles! And only run in Brooks shoes!

:D

There is no limit to what one considers to be "the best"

Although, I do drive a Buick... The Cadillac ATS hadn't been released yet :( Sorry, I know GM is far from the best at anything, but I really like Buicks and Cadillacs! At least the "New" models, the older models were old fart cars! I prefer to buy American, or I would drive a BMW all day long
