Hello,

I am currently doing some research on ecigs and I have got to say that you guys run a very nice website, I've been reading up on the terms and different styles and all of that stuff but I still haven't decided what kind of model I want...

What I'm looking for is one that has decent battery life, the only time that I really smoke is when I'm at the computer, driving, or at work, which really is what my life consists of, lol. So I'm not too worried about charging it, I could always grab a USB charger or passthrough and just plug it into computer and/or an adapter I have for my car? I thought I seen one that said that you couldn't do that, but I think that's a little weird since it should be using the same voltage, right?

I'm also looking for one with a nice throat hit. By nice I mean, one that you can feel. I smoke about a pack a day of Marlboro Reds or the occasional pack of Newports, when I wanna feel like 2pac, lol.

I'd also like one that's not too big, I like the idea of one that's about the size of a cigarette but I don't think that's too important, but I don't think I want one of those Hybrids, I think they're called. I've been looking at the blu ones but after doing some research on them I've heard some things about how their shipping is bad and I'd really like to order them sometime this week and have them by this weekend so I can show them off lol.

I'm really thinking that I wanna go for the manual but I guess it really doesn't matter. When I smoke analogue cigarettes I tend to do the quick puff in the begging on those too, not sure why exactly but I do, so it's already kind of habit to do that.

Oh, and another thing that I've found so appealing about the blu models is the fact that they're black and light up blue, are there a lot of models out like this?

But in a summed up way that makes you regret reading this whole post..

I'm looking for a small to midsized ecig, that has a throat hit that you can feel (comparable to a Marlboro red, if that's possible), that's black and lights up blue (not too picky about those colors but I don't want one that looks like a regular cig), and has a decent battery life.

If anyone could please help me out with this I would REALLY appreciate it! I look forward to being able to contribute to this community as soon as I recieve my first ecig!

Alot of people recommend the joye 510. but i doubt you'll get the battery life you're looking for. My next purchase will be the Janty Ego. It's bigger than a normal cigarette but it still looks sleek and you can get it in black. I think it has a blue ring that lights up but i'm not sure. It's also supposed to have a great throat hit and good vapor production, as well as good battery life.

Could you tell me how long of a battery life the 510 gets? I've been thinking that they only last like 20 to 30 puffs whichs seems kind of a lot to me but then again I'm not really sure how many puffs I get off from a single cigarette. I'm gonna do some research into your other suggestion I was just curious because I've seen quite a few comments or recommendation on the forum for the 510 so there's gotta be somethin there.

Check out Vapor4Life.. They have a forum on here also..

They have the KR808D-1 which is a 2 pc e-cig with an optional pocket charger (PCC)for spare batteries. They have black batteries and you can ask if they have a blue LED.

They use cartomizers which are pre-filled atomized cartridges with a large variety of flavors!

I would discourage you from getting a Blu because they do not perform as well as the 2 leading pen-style models.

The hybrids you are reffering to are called Mods. They actually last alot longer than e-cigs.

The Janty eGo, lasts pretty long and also takes cartomizers for the 510 but it does not look like a cig..

Would the cartomizers make it harder for me to save money in the long run by just refilling my own carts? That's what I plan on doing once I figure out what's going on with ecigs exactly.

Yes they would.. They come in blanks and the prefilled are refillable as well.

You can even wash them out let them dry and use a different flavor if you want.

For a first e-cig, I would go with the KR since it is the easiest and most convenient to use.. The 510 would confuse you at first and from what you said, you want to start using it right away...

Which ever you go with, remember they are not real cigarettes so you need to get the hang of it and learn how to puff on it...

And another question, are cartomizers hard to refill? And if I were to order a set of 5 it'd be just like having 5 carts and 5 atomizers right? So I shouldn't have to worry about having to worry about ordering more for a little while? I plan on ordering a set of 5 of carts if I do and some e juice to last me alittle while until I can get used to the idea of making my own.

Vapor 4 life has great starter kits they are all the kr808 type battery so anything from there is good. Most cigarette looking and easy to use. You can order a pack of carts and get juice to refill them. They will last a little while till you get the hang of it. Make sure you order juice too or you may be stuck without any and empty carts waiting for juice to put in them.

The eGo is my recommendation if you don't mind cigarette looking or not. I find most people starting out like the look of the cigarette first then move on the other things. If you dont really care about cigarette looks the eGo is a good choice. You will get parts to refill here as well , make sure you order juice to refill.

I don't recomend the kr808 any more. Two of my friends bought them and neither of them were happy with it. Thier complaint is that it just doesn't put out like the 510.

This would be my suggestion based on what you are looking for. I would buy the 510 kit with the megabatteries. The batteries last 70% longer. They are a little longer but still slim in size they are black and have a blue LED. I would add a 5volt passthrough. Add in some very berry and fried apple liquid and you will be set.

510 Mega Kit with no Box

They also have a great deal on their 50ml bottles of tobaco and menthol flavors.

I would also consider adding a drip tip. it's just very convienent to drip with one of these so you don't have to take your e-cig apart. You just take your bottle out and drip a few drops straight onto the atty. This way you don't have to fuss with a cartomizer or carts or refilling or anything like that.

50ml E-Liquids

They ship super fast and have great custormer support.

this type of passthrough will do what you were thinking because it retains the original battery of the PV.....then you can charge it while using it, get by using .5amp car adapters and AC adapters (normally passthroughs need more than 1amp) AND you can unplug it and use it anywhere......use it with cartridges or 510 cartomizers.....

I will second a Joye 510 I am a noobie at this too and thats what I have. It does take some time to figure these things out but I have not smoked an analog since I got my e-cig:toast:

My suggestion is the DSE901. Same size as the Joye 510. Larger than the m40x series. The M40x are 8mm in diameter, the same size around as an analog. The Joye 510 and DSE901 are 9.2mm which makes them larger but not too much larger. The m40x come in 3 battery lengths that make an e-cig that's 87mm (King), 102 (100) and 118 (120) long. The Joye and DSE end up around 112-118mm, the DSE slightly longer.

Battery capacity: 100mah for M403, 150mah for M402, 200mah for m401, 180mah for Joye 510 and DSE901. The more mah the longer between recharges.

The atomizer on the Joye 510 heats hotter than the DSE91. This means the 510 has less battery life and flavor but more vapor and TH, the 901 has more flavor and battery life at the expense of vapor and TH. Both in my opinion produce more vapor than a cartomizer with the same e-liquid. I love the taste of most liquids more with the 901 over the 510.

The 901 has a slight advantage over the 510 which is important to one of the OP criteria. It has the same threads as the KR808D-1. At the expense of length, you can buy a 380mah mega capacity KR808D-1 battery and use it with the DSE901 atomizer and cartridge. This gives you about double the time between recharges as the regular battery. You can also go in between and use a regular 280mah KR808D-1 with the DSE901 atomizer and cartridge. With the 280mah battery its about 135mm (reminds me of a cig with a mouthpiece/holder like an old movie) but with the 380mah battery we're talking pen style e-cig length.

TH depends more on the particular liquid than on the hardware. That isn't to say its the same for all hardware but simply that the brand and flavor makes much more of a difference than if you're using a KR808D-1 or Joye 520 or DSE901 or M40x. Granted you can get lousy hardware that won't produce TH or vapor with any liquid but all the suggestions in this thread aren't for junk but quality stuff.

I would also recomment the KR808D-1, or VaporKing from Vapor4Life, because you have clearly stated that you want a strong throat hit. The VK will give you that, without question. I'm not sure that the 510 or 400-models can do the same, though it's pretty clear that the 510 has a huge fan base. I think that's because they really put out a lot of vapor - but they do require more fussing than a 2-piece e-cig, and the batteries on the 510 do not last as long.

The 2-piece units are easier and more convenient than the 3-piece models, and the cartomizers are simple to refill. (I will echo what others have advised: buy extra juice for refills no matter which model you choose.) I have been using my VK for nearly 7 months and I absolutely love it. I haven't smoked since my first vape.

I think that you can't really go wrong with either the KR808D-1 or the Joy 510. You will see many, many posters who quit using one of these models. I don't know much about the 400 or 900 models, but some people also love those.

I have to go with the 510's for what you are looking for in your PV . Manuel battery's are so much better. Get a PCC . And the Pass through some e-juice and you will be happy with your purchase. I recommend using Cignot. com they got the black battery with blue LED and there shipping is so fast. And there Customer Service is outstanding. Prices are fare. They have 5ml samples of e-juice for sale so you won't have allot of e-juice you find undesirabe. Welcome to the Fourm and to the world of vaping. Cignots link
Cignot your Midwest Electronic Cigarette store.

I 'definitely' recommend you start with a ($40 shipped) Manual Joye 510 (no box) Starter Kit from Cignot. (Joye 510 NO BOX). You get two complete eCigs with a wall charger and 5 pre-filled cartridges. (I recommend the Marlboro high nicotine ones). The Joye 510 produces TONS of vapor & flavor and is the highest quality eCig out there for the Money.. hands down. While you're there... go ahead & order some of their Joye Smoke/Tobacco flavored Nicotine Liquids.... 24 mg strength is a great Nicotine level and will keep you away from the Analogs. I've tried EVERYTHING and in my humble opinion nothing comes close to the Joye 510 eCig... (except for the Janty eGo and some of the more expensive MODS and what have you)... but since $ is an issue, as it is for MOST of us, then the Joye 510 is what you NEED to start with... and end with. You could also add a Personal Charging Case for $25.00 while you're there at Cignot too. (Joye PCC). That allows you to re-charge your eCigs while you're out & about.. and the PCC sort of resembles a traditional cigarette pack/case. That's OK.. you can THANK me later.. they ALL do.. (Be sure to tell 'em Eve sent ya!!!) :vapor:

I should perhaps add this idea…

For 10-12 bucks shipped you can get the Q disposable. Hopefully someone will pop in and post a link. I saw it on 2 sites but forgot to bookmark those that offered it with free or reduced shipping. It is a really cheaply made 510 style battery coupled with a cheap USB charger a real 510 atomizer and 3 cartridges. It will not be enough to start with but will be enough to let you decide if the 3 piece style e-cig will work for you. If you like it you can then get a real 510 starter from madvapes or cignot and reuse the atomizer and cartridges from the Q kit. The battery may even last you months of recharges instead of the promised 3 or it may only last for those 3 charges, remember I said it was really, really cheaply made ;)
