Dan i really like that design you made for the Genisis CE2. I might have to go to my friends house and show him some specs so he can set up the lathe. Dan are there just 2 wires running inside the ss inside from the 510 connection? any other wires? Like the idea of the SS mesh set up this way also. Excellent work Dan.

Yep 2 wires up to the connectors, I used heatshrink on the connector ends themselves once the wires were soldered to them and placed them into the predrilled holes. Here is a variaton of another quick connect/disconnect I want to try:

I like your idea Dan,
Those are going to be some small springs though.

I think that I'd put an isulating washer under the spring that's a little larger though. I know you've got the nylon insulator under there but springs like to wiggle around enough under compression (unless you are really close on the spring ID fit) that it probably warrants it.

Ok guys.
I'm having a heck of a time rolling 400 mesh in Dans design.
I can't get it to bend, it always folds.
If I roll it tighter it freys.
I've got 325 to work out. But there's something I'm not liking about 325.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

The way I get it to bend so nice is to roll it while bending, never had it fold when I did that. I usually start dead center and pull while rolling a couple time and then roll while bending. Works for me :)

Dan that sounds kinda hard. Do you roll it a little then bend it a little then roll a bit more?

I made a mod like yours with a Ce2 but I think it doesn't wick properly because there is no ferrule tube. I don't know I'll post it some other time. Right now all my e-cig mod effort is going into my genesis build.

Hey obeer, I had the same problem at first. The trick it to use a smaller soldering tip on a cooler iron. I melted a couple of them with my soldering gun then tried a 25w iron with a precision soldering tip... No more melted switches :)

Haha. Looks like we both learned the hard way. All I've got is a 30 Watt and a butane, both without fancy tips. Guess I'll have to shop for more tools....oh darn. ;)

Here is some good ceramic stuff for those in the US...I have some and it is good stuff. As shown in the pic below I have used it to coat a coil wrapped around a glass tube and it gets red hot and doesnt chip off. Good for molding your own cups too. To fully cure it just hit it with a torch until red hot. I talked to the company and it is non-toxic when cured.
