If you feel the coil burns its leads, and you have no space, you can use silver wire about 1 mm diameter. Silver is not expensive, everyone can buy needed wire on e-bay or just to ask a nearest jeweler to make it. And silver is the best heatsink, so you get rid of burning issues. I made a few genesises with aluminium contacts, but now I use silver only. Very easy to make and no problem with contact and burning taste.
No need to bend the wire, just reel your kanthal.

Persis, it's great and the music made me cry. You are going to make me cry again by saying I can't get one from you!

jajajajaja, to cry is healthy I heard

I might suggest a twist-to-lock safety feature for the switch or some beveling to partially recess the switch, and just maybe that the sharp tip of the needles can be removed before being built in. The 15mm part is wonderful and I could easily overlook these two minor changes, if it weren't for all the tears.

About the lock, I built one with the lock too, and is much more complex, later I will put a picture, but the lock in my opinion is not necessary, the button dont activates easily, even stunded up with his whole weight itself the button dont activated, nor in a pocket for example. The tension of the mechanism is in balance to maintain the smooth push and a safe button system.

About the sharp tip of the needles, are necessary, you can cut the tip a bit, but not all the chanfer, the tips make the 2 connectors can be inserted perfectly, the needles on the middle part of the tip have a diameter a few thousandths of a millimeter wider that they do that can produce an outward pressure that keeps the poles completely firmly. Also, after placing a needle in place, I can take it with my hand and shake vigorously down and the pole does not move at all. The connections are 100% stable.

You'll have to pardon me I think too literally...I watched the video again my wife said its really close to the structure of the lighthouse at the beginning of the video...I understand now...

And yea maybe he will make a mod w some EL wire next...hey that might be an idea...glad I thought of it...lol mod and lantern all in one...rofl...errk I think I'm vaping too much...but this thing tastes great...:vapor::vapor::vapor::vapor::vapor::vapor::vapor::vapor::vapor::vapor::vapor:

Need a experienced persons help here please.
I think I have perfected my wicking issues.
Now I don't have much flavor.(Eg: my RY4 taste like cotton candy).
But wicks great.
What would help this?
Looser coil wrap? Tighter? Or looser mesh? Or tighter?
Thanks.
I'm using a ce2 mod at the moment and the soldering to experiment is killing me.

If it's wicking good enough and you're not getting flavor it sounds like you're just not getting enough heat to vaporize effectively. I'd check for solid connections and make sure your resistance is good for what you're using to drive the cool.

I have not forgotten about the tanks either. I've just been too busy to cut them up. I will get them done soon though.

Hah, you all know me too well, as I watched the video I anxiously awaited the 'led' ;)

Even w/o the 'led', nice mod 'persis', love the size and great job on the video too. What do you use for editing?

Ok just got done testing out a dual coil in the SCUBAGEN "XL" Provari Version:
IMG_0329.jpg

I solderd a couple coils in series totalling 4.7 ohms.

Throat hit is off the chart, and I think I need a new lung running at 6vdc...
Whew I think I am going to go back down to a single coil. LOL

Wow, that thing is huge! (no one say it!)

Well I was "thinking it" anyway.

@Dan,
what did that do to the temp of the vape. One of my complaints with a Genisis atty is the vapor is too cool.

A much shorter tank may be in order.
Remember in art something called the "rule of thirds".

Nope not cool at all, the DSU was cool to me, this is just right. With the coils right below the mouth piece it is warm to me.
Well I was wanting something that would hold 10-15ml this does. Hence the "XL" version name LOL
Hey I use that rule in scuba diving not gen modding LOL

Dan, thanks for going there, now I don't have to. By XL you weren't kidding around LOL

Back to a single coil, wow that took me like a couple min to change out. Running 2.1 ohms @4.1vdc right at 8 watts, and she is running perfect! LOVE IT!

Dan

Holy multiple-purposing batman, if we put a stainless tube on it and connect it to a provari, we got us a vaping night-stick :)

Vaping pleasure and self defense in one unit, lol!

All kidding aside, looks good Dan, can't wait to see it on a vari for a final product preview.

Persis so your saying your connector pins put tension on the kanthal?...That's ingenious if thats what you did...I have noticed if you have just a little tension on the wire it tends to keep it from glowing as much......

Exactly, The sistem is simple, easily replaceable, all the parts touching mesh and kanthal are from quirurgical steel and mechanically assembled.

The principle is based on 2 caps that rotate to provide the tension you want for kanthal between the poles and mesh.

The caps are made from 16G needles, you can see in this video from the minute 12:45 (in Spanish, but is visually understandable):

Persis, that was a great video and your first method looks quite close to how I do mine. I only wish there were YouTube translate as I wish I knew all of what you are saying. I got new batteries and juice in the mail today, so my tears are gone, what do I need to do to get a lovely lighthouse? :)
